I've just took all the pressies for valentines out of the cupboard before OH gets home ... packed it roughly in the box to see how full it was and I still have loads of room to go which I am not sure is a good thing or not!!!

Oooh and if anyone uses home bargains they had some small bottle of champagne for 89p

Rainmac this one may be of use to you, in my local they had the full pack of ITNG characters RRP £15 for £5.99 - same as these : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Night-Garden-Character-Collection/dp/B000UFSQNI/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=1231336777&sr=8-11

  • Rusty, I'm sorry to hear about your OH, I hope he is okay when he gets in.

If I were you, especially given that news, I wouldn't worry too much about stacking the box to the brim, you could fill the bottom with tissue paper or shredded paper or bulk it out with hidden card or newspaper underneath, I'm sure he will totally love what you have bought so far, sounds like a great gift

I did think about that Sian, but I also know he enjoys lots of little gifts which kind of makes me want to build it up even more. So far I have only spent about £4 so well under budget anyway and the money to pay for it was unexpected cause new years day we were at the club (where I work) and it was really busy so I jumped behind the bar to wash some glasses etc and my FIL has paid me for it and it was double time :D

Oh dear me Rusty, I'm so sorry to hear that. I was saying to DH after reading something you wrote on here a while back that I hoped it wouldn't come to that :(
Guess it will be like treading on egg shells for a few days, he's no doubt going to be very fed up and rightly so.
I wish him and you all the best my duck.
Hamper's going to look brilliant by the way.

Thankyou to you all who have posted.

Oh walked in 10 mins ago, he isn't in such a foul mood, he walked in I made him a cuppa and he shot upstairs, came down 4 mins later after updating his CV and within the last 4 minutes he has had 3 agents head hunting him which is fantastic news :D:D

I was thinking of buying a little thing each week, for a night in type thing, pamper in the bath for when my little one is in bed. A nice hot soak with some fav choc's (would this be unhygenic to eat choc in the bath room so close to the bog)

Thats where I eat most of my choc (in the bath with a glass of chilled wine)
    ! ;)

Sorry to hear that your Gran wasn't so appreciative of your hamper - sometimes people can be thoughtless. You never know, she might have been saying to other people how much effort and thought went into the present you gave her?

you could have a look at tescos, I saw it in tescos a while back but not sure if they will still have any as it is a limited edition. ... Failing that if you really want some then If you don't mind paying the postage etc then I can nip to my nettos and get some for you and post it.

Thanks - popped to Tescos but no luck!!! Boo-Hoo!! I'm happy to pay postage but whats the best way to pay you? It would be ever so kind of you to do that for me I have to say! If I can work out how to PM you I'll do so and give you my address - always assuming they haven't run out too!!! I just know my hubby would LOVE it!!

Have been out today and got a few bits for his Valentine hamper, so far got the following...
    Strawberry haribos
    Maltesers Thick shake
    Cherry TicTacs
Berries & Cherries (think he needs healthy snack after crimbo indulgences!) in lovely red foil bag
Choc chip cookies in red packaging
    2 packets of Lovehearts
    Deodorant - in red metallic
a heart shaped cookie cutter for me to make cookies!

thats it so far but feeling quite pleased plus feeling really smug as I managed to get my nieces birthday pressies both for about £4 and theres enough stuff to fill hampers!! I think RRP was prob about £15 each so well chuffed - I know their birthdays aren't til Sept & Dec and my OH will think I've gone mad but I'm addicted now...!!! Gotta grab the bargains when you see 'em!!! LOL!
