I must be so lucky with my family, they were all so chuffed! My mum bless her bought a camera out of my catologue then lost her job so I said I would pay for it for her birthday (near xmas) and xmas...but its my mum so I did her a hamper aswell for her birthday and she was scared to open it, just kept it to look at and when she did eventually open it she kept touching it all and putting it all back in its place because she didn't want to mess it up but I told her if she wanted a hamper for her xmas I wanted the basket back!!lol You've never seen a basket get emptied so quick....she loved them and wants them every year!lol

Just thought Id add that i DON'T ask anyone else for their baskets back, just my mum cause it was an 'extra' pressie, she'll get 2 baskets this year!haha!

My mum passed comment about loving presents like hampers as there is always lots of lovely things in ... that sort of made up my mind about her birthday pressie, I need to find a theme now though failing that I will just pick up lots of little bits and bobs and fill a basket :)

I have been shopping today ... not armed with my valentines list but managed to pick up a couple of little odds and ends for it ...

Red bubble bath (radox muscle soak)
Dairy milk with cranberries and granola (its got red on the packaging)
Trident chewing gum (red pack with a bit of green)
2 x packs of thorntons fudge (dark red pack)
1 x pinky red thorntons heart truffle (1 single chocky)
2 x love scratch cards (red/pink but with hearts all over so will go perfect in the pot of love (gold)

I am just planning to add random red bits now aswell as buying the red things I have on my list ... I also added some red chillis to the list and keep contemplating adding some extra hot tabasco sauce which is also red!

I hope you don't mind I think I'm going to copy your idea's I bet it will look fab! The love Scratch cards sound so cool! I've had a bar of the dairy milk with cranberries and it's lovely!
    :xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile

I don't mind at all :) Feel free, I only put the ideas up on here as people come up with fab ideas which I borrow, and also it may help others with their ideas.

I picked up more red bits today ...

Some lynx miniature red shower gel
    some balti nuts (red packaging)
Jamaican ginger cake (OH loves this and it comes in red packaging)

Also nipped into birthdays and they had a red metallic gift box with a christmas tag on it (tag can be cut off) it was reduced from £5.99 to £1.50 so I grabbed that :) I now have the box for all of my goodies to go into ;) OH will think I have lost the plot but I know he will love it.

Whilst I was out had a phone call from OH he has lost his job ... he was given his notice on monday ... but has gone in today and they have told him to pack up his desk and go back home :( he hasn't got home yet as he had a few places to nip into on his way home. Not sure what to expect when he gets home as he was very angry and upset on the phone. :(

    Furrypig, zls & rainmac,
Ive just been reading your posts re ungrateful recipients of baskets and really feel mad re the responses youve been getting. These people, family or not, dont deserve your efforts! Its tough when youre related, but remember the saying " you reap what you sow". Unfortunately some folks are totally materialistic and do not realise the thought and love you put in to making a personal gift for them. I would suggest next year buy them something through Oxfam Unwrapped or similar and then at least you will know that the money wil be used to help someone! Sorry to sound so pious, but sometimes you need to protect yourslf against negativity! I know from reading your posts that you are so helpful and kind so dont let them get you down!
    Have a great day!

Thank you :D, it was my MIL's birthday yesterday and she didn't say thank you or even crack a smile when she opened her coffee hamper. Oxfam Unwrapped is a great idea but I think they would get annoyed with me. I bought my mum and dad 100 school dinners from Oxfam for Xmas and they loved it. Will be buying some more bits this year but maybe not for the outlaws ;)

    Rusty big hugs,

Rainmac, did you remember to put the synaide in the coffee ROFL (sorry my spelling bad, gone all sleepy)

Been trying to think of red things as a lot of you are doing love themed hampers for the V word lol. All I can think of right now is tomatoe sauce, will have a think and look about and post some ideas.
