Jess... what kind of things does your dad like? My Dad is usually equally hard to buy for but has been surprisingly easy this year!! How about a sort of 'Night In' hamper with beer, nuts, pork scratchings and seasonal special dvd of a TV prog he likes? If it's any help (and my Pa is 57) I bought ; polo shirts, DKNY and Calvin Klein scent, a couple of silly gadgets, a small 'you're oing on holiday!' hamper, bottle of his fav pernod, hand gripper exercise things, steve irwin book, photo book and keyring of his last holiday amongst other things. hth!

I showed OH the movie night basket and he was amazed with how good it looked which suprised me. .. anyway do you think 2 hampers for the same person is too much? I have bought OH Batman the dark knight on blu ray for christmas as it was cheap (£14.99 play.com) so after his reaction to the movie hamper I did for his bro and family I wondered if I could get away with making one for him aswell ... only thing is I already have a marmite hamper for him

    What do you think?

    Great hampers and baskets everyone!

Well done SDH, soblivion (love those little pots), mdhughes03 (those baskets are really pretty - wished I'd seen some ;)), Rusty (great outdoor lights and tree :D), Kandipandi - lovely hampers and great idea re the ten pound note :D, rainmac - pretty hamper as always (and a good reminder that I still need to do some cups & saucers! :rotfl: Mazcabs - brill :)

Think I've forgotten someone :o but can't stay logged on for some reason  so will pop back later.

P.S. You can never have too many hampers Rusty :rotfl: (I did dd 3 last year but mainly because they were themed and couldn't really be mixed and matched - unless I'd had the biggest hamper in the world ;))

junior_j your dad sounds like he has the same tastes as my OH (prob roughly the same age too:eek: ). how about a hamper with beer, snacks, nuts, guitar magazine (OH buys classic rock!), beer glass.

passion8 great basket - love the sewing basket. keep forgetting to look in Home Bargains!

rusty - I would do lots of little hampers. saying that i think I am putting all OH's things in one:rotfl: however...I don't think you can get too many hampers and lots of themed ones are nice (does that make sense!!)

As are yours - I would love to get one of those but im the only one I know who does things like this :( I do love that little cross stitch coaster - was it a kit?

Thank you! No not a kit, got quite a few blank plastic coasters from ebay and a stitching site earlier in the year and have stitched lots of coasters for presents over the year. These two are of teacups from a Lizzie Kate chart called Time For Tea.
