ooo so inspiring ladies they are beautiful!!

we are making christmas hampers this year for various people after starting last year with a food bag for my grandparents! just been to wilkinsons and made my best friend a birthday hamper!

sadly i cant post pics as my camera is broken but i have made three so far and they are....

    best friends 'pamper hamper'
    bath bomb
    2 candles
    bath scrunchie
    hot chocolate sachet
    face mask
    hand cream
    body lotion
    mug
    bubble bath
    2 mini chocs

all for £11.16 including the hamper!!

    grandparents foodie basket

    water biscuits
    ginger biscuits
    5 mini jars of preserves
    breakfast tea
    coffee beans
    wine mini
    horseradish sauce
    two cheeses
This is around £25 for them and my tip would be not to go in supermarkets but go to any travelling markets! my 5 mini preserve jars are all handmade and cost £5 for all of them! The coffee beans were also from a market and were half the price of those in store!

    mums foodie mini hamper
    sundried tomato biscuits
    bottle of non alchoholic cider
    hellish relish
    walnut whips (poundland!)
    two cheeses

We are also making a cooking hamper for my mother in law with recipie books and cooking utensils in, and a boys hamper for my brother in law who has just moved into his own flat got a great apron chefs set which says 'hot stuff' on it! Also a mini's goodies hamper for my sisters boyfriend which i need to do for £10!

Does anyone know where you can get mini bottles of jack daniels??xxx

lush - thanks for the link. I'll have a look.

Kandi - Mum had a stroke about 4 years ago - there's limited space where she is and she has loads of photos that I've done for her since she;s been in the home and there's really no room for anymore.
Audio books she has but never listens to then as she can't work her machine -relys on staff for everything. She does look at the tv but not sure she's able to keep up with whats on, i.e. soaps and stuff.
She did have a subscription to Yours magazine but her eyes aren't so good now so that'll be a no go.
Same goes for plants really..........she already has enough and there's just no space.
It is a hard one. Being totally immobile there's nothing she can do without help.
I had this same problem with her birthday.

mary my partners grandma is ill although not as ill as your mum is, she has parkinsons disease and rarely leaves the house. We have finally come up with a present and we are making her a patchwork throw which she can have on her bed or a chair when she is sitting watching tv, or even if she folds it up put it on her lap when she goes out in her wheelchair. Cost us £20 to run up tho you could make it cheaper.

How about a digital photo frame if there's no more space for framed photos? They aren't that expensive now and the basic ones are very easy to use.

Ruth - thanks but I don''t think she'd understand what it was and there's just nowhere to put it..........honest, you wouldn't believe the photos she's got............lol Some are old ones of her and her brother when they were little, me and brother when we were little....all memories for her.

Think I'll got with the bed jacket idea. Found some quite nice ones but really I'd like one that looks like a sort of cape/shawl type.........seen them in catalogues but can't remember which ones.............lol
    I'll find one.

I usually shred a few sheets myself in my shredder, much cheaper! I don't really know how much you would need as I judge it as i am going. If you have a shredder or know someone with one, try doing a few sheets of tissue yourself, I think it will be alot cheaper for you and you can choose your colours to match your hamper.

Mary - I honestly think there is nothing much you can really get that would not be just buying for buying's sake. My heart breaks for you I know it is so hard, I have been through it with my Gran. I can only suggest you get her some bedwear and maybe some nice handkerchiefs to keep in her pockets/ bedside. x
