Hi folks
I did my little pots of Gold last night:

Pots Ikea 79p, 2 scratchcards £2, Coins 50p, Ferrero 40p = £3.69 (made the tags and had cello and ribbon).
Intending to put them in my hampers.
Rusty - I did photos!! Are you proud of me?:rotfl:You can stand there and agonize........

They look really lovely................well done:T
Now........just when I thought I'd done it all I haven't.
Not that I forgot my poor old Mum but I really didn't know how she was going to be this christmas.
Well, from being in bed for over a year -last weekend she did get up, not for long and who knows, she may never do it again. And instead of rambling like she did, she now talks sense and seems to understand whats going on.
For her birthday I got her some 'pamper' stuff, foot cream etc. and gave her a general massage to give her the 'feel good factor'
So, what can I get her for Christmas ? I don't want to repeat what I did for her birthday but am really stuck.
She can''t eat or drink -thats all done by tube - nighties etc. and clothes in general she has plenty of. I can only think of a bed jacket - she does have one but if she does end up spending more time in bed again then another might be useful -though she hardly wore the last one.
Now..........where could I get a nice bed jacket from ? Notsomething I normally would buy so haven't a clue.
Sorry for long posting............got carried away............lolMary

Mary how about a nice photo to have near her bed, her family or herself even, many years ago, I did this from my Gran and she was delighted with it. Not knowing how unwell she is it's hard to say, does she watch TV at all, or listen to the radio? I got my gran a few audiobooks and a small CD player (read cheap!)as she found this easier that watching TV, and when she was able she did like to read. Hope you think of something.
p.s. I did also buy a bed jacket a few years ago - i think it was from Bon Marche (can I add that this was also for Gran not for me!)You can stand there and agonize........

Mary43 Bon Marche shops have bed jackets.
How about some 4711 eau de cologne? Most older people like it and I think they still do a solid stick version which is very refreshing when in bed for a long time.0 -
lush - thanks for the link. I'll have a look.
Kandi - Mum had a stroke about 4 years ago - there's limited space where she is and she has loads of photos that I've done for her since she;s been in the home and there's really no room for anymore.
Audio books she has but never listens to then as she can't work her machine -relys on staff for everything. She does look at the tv but not sure she's able to keep up with whats on, i.e. soaps and stuff.
She did have a subscription to Yours magazine but her eyes aren't so good now so that'll be a no go.
Same goes for plants really..........she already has enough and there's just no space.
It is a hard one. Being totally immobile there's nothing she can do without help.
I had this same problem with her birthday.Mary
