Just got back from delivering boxes and hampers to my son, his girlfriend and the grandchildren. Baby grandson was too busy running amok to take much notice but the older ones were thrilled to bits...............I did have to add to teenage grandson that it was only odds and ends in the boxes and he wasn't to think 'crikes, nanny's lost the plot' at some of them.............to which he replied.............'I knew you'd lost the plot ages ago'.......................lol How typical............................too much like his dad methinks.................lol:rotfl:
Wondering if I've made a bit of an error with sons box...........have done him a retro sweet box...........now he tells me he needs some expensive dental work done !!!!! Not to worry............not saying too much about the journey except to say OH's specs have broken and he had to drive back without them plus he tripped and fell out of the car when we got there and is having to hobble !! Next year I'm thinking maybe I'll send cheques in the post ......................lol
May I suggest for next year...

Hi - these would've been great but unfortunately I'm down south and we have no Home Bargains - its so upsetting when I keep hearing about Home Bargains - sounds like a treasure trove to me and there aren't any near me at all - LOL! most upsetting truly it is!
Anyway I've decided to get plastic crates - either in black or wrap in black tissue paper and then decorate with printed out skulls & crossbones etc and then I'm gonna make or buy a small treasure chest that I'll fill with gold choc coins - off to Hobbycraft tomorrow!!0 -
Thanks Mary, looking forward to other ideas ..

Looking to get my mum a pair of curling tongs - she travels a few hours every other weekend and stays away and I know that she'd love them as she frequently asks to borrow mine. Does anybody know of cheapish ones I can get her that are decent? Like maybe branded ones that go for quite a cheap price? I don't really know what to look for, mine were from a hairdressing outlet!
Oh and ones that come in a nice little bag to keep it together to pop in her overnight bag would be fab!0 -
I think Wilkinsons do them, don't know whether it will be any good?!?!
..xxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -

Hi - I recently purchased the umberto giannini smooth curling tongs and their brill. Comes with a lovely pouch bag. Vey flashy looking packaging (which you can't view on the website unfortunatly) half price from Boots at £19.99.

If you are looking for cheaper ones - Wilkinsons were selling straightners, tongs and hair dryers priced between £8.99 - £15.00 from Vidal Sassoon.0 -

Tongs or a bag? Found a good pair of tongs, just now looking for some kind of pouch to keep them in... thinking I might get one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEAT-MAT-HEAT-PROOF-MAT-STRAIGHTENERS-POUCH-BLACK_W0QQitemZ250339047838QQihZ015QQcategoryZ36408QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
But would a pair of hair tongs fit in there? Eeeek this is the problem with online shopping!0
