Hi I have been following this thread and the photos only one too, and have been well impressed and will be next year making hampers for family and friends..
I have mentioned the subject to two of my friends and they have snubbed the idea, which has annoyed me as I sent them links on the discussions and the finished photos..
I know my parents will be ok with them, but do I do my friends one or not, has anybody else has the hamper idea thrown back at them in disgust..♥♥♥Life is too short to wake up with regrets ♥ So love the people who treat you right. ♥ Forget about the one’s who don’t ♥ Believe everything happens for a reason ♥ If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands ♥ If it changes your life, let it ♥ Nobody said life would be easy, they just promise it would be worth it ♥0 -
Rymans sell rolls of cellophane, they only have clear though.0

They were toilet roll wrapped in tissue paper with a rhyme on them.. Which was quite funny
I was going to make them to fill out my hamper for dad and H
Just dont seem to have the time to, sit and design a tag. I might end up just using a gift tag attatched to the top ?
The start of the rhyme was
I bought this little gift for you
I thought it was unique
I bet you cant guess what it is
So trendy and so chic
Then theres another verse that i havent wrote on my notepad here :rotfl:furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
hi they are from matalan. My local matalan still has them in so i guess its pot luck whether yours does too..
http://www.matalan.co.uk/pages/products/004/123
rescuedogs My local Matalan hadn't even heard of them!!! In the end I've ordered a couple from ebay - a bit more expensive than in the store but I'm gonna use the blue one for DH's Xmas Eve Hamper and he's gonna use the pink one for my gifts - then next year I'll re-use them for birthdays for our nephews/nieces or Xmas!!! That way get our money's worth for the slightly extra spend!0 -
Oh the irony! Just been to Asda to get the items for my "Tea for Two" tray that Im doing(see previous posts) Well I was so pleased........I got Assam tea for £1, a lovely mini panettone for £1 and two mugs. I also got lots of chocs in the reduced bit, I'll wrap them up in nice cello and bows. Felt very smug, then got home and dropped the bl**y mugs on the path and broke them! Thought I'd givE you all a chuckle at that! So much for money saving!!
Also spotted Asda Smart Price wicker baskets, £8 for three, they're quite big, so I thought Id pass it on.
OMG - I'm glad its not just me!!! When I was shopping last week I had loads of bags full to brimming and when I tried to load them into the boot of my car I didn't realise the lovely spiderman mug I'd bought my friend's little boy was on the top and it crashed to the floor and smashed!! Most upsetting - especially now I've got to get him something else - will have to be cheaper now!!! grrrrrr - shop assistant should have wrapped it really!!0 -
popkins I have just been looking at your hampers on the pictures only thread. they are fantastic :T I love all the different containers and especially like the way you have done the one for your 16 year old nephew.
Thank you so much - thats really kind of you to say so! My 16yr old nephews one is actually a large fluted neck waste paper bin in white frosted plastic iykwim (think it cost about £1.97!! from Wilkos - might have to go back for more) and then I just scooped up black tissue paper and tied it with the lime green curling ribbon - to match the colours on the t-shirt and I've tucked the tissue paper in the top but once I put the cellophane on I'll untuck the tissue paper and that will then cover up the gifts so he can't see whats inside until he unwraps it! I'm also making a 'banner' strip with his name on to go around the bin!! I'm loving doing all this creative stuff!0 -

Hope that helps.
