Thanks, I have some of this. It is silver on one side and silvery grey with xmas trees on the other side. i actually wrapped car buckets up in it last year, dont know why i didnt think of it. Thankyou. :)
Pooky thanks for the clinton tip, Ill pop in there and ask. Im doing my nan a food basket so think that'd look better cellophaned.
Did i read on here someone used clingfilm then a hairdryer to keep the stuff in place? A lot of the baskets have toiletries in that will just rattle around if i just use wrapping paper.
I will type up the contents/themes of my baskets if anyones interested (no pics yet as havent quite finished assembling yet) Always feel like im intruding in your happy little hampering/craft community.:o

You're welcome! :D Would love contents and pics when you get chance. And you're not intruding at all! I've not been here that long, but everyone's so welcoming and friendly-not to mention very helpful! You're part of the group now...no escaping...:rotfl:

  • Thanks for the offer Ruth_honey :A my penguin came with toy , newsletter and little card. It is called PING !. a relative of pingu maybe..lol

I will pm you could always print off a pic and stick in a plain card to pop on the hamper. I`m looking for a nice cheap dark green scarf for him but lambswool or a mix at least maybe next I could try.

I love that site jembie soo many think to look at how did you find it or a fellow penguin lover ?

Brookeslay - How old is your brother? Woolworths are selling penguin shaped salt and pepper shakers for 80p (£1 minus 20% discount)

For the person asking about Jack Daniels gifts a while back - I mentioned about seeing the sweets in Sainsburys but have just been to Morrisons and saw them there - £3.99 ish I think

  • Ive come to a bit of a halt with my baskets as I cant afford the cellophane! Will have to wrap them in wrapping paper grrr! A few will look silly wrapped in wrapping paper but cant help it. Does anyone know any shops that sell cellophane as i may be able to get some when oh gets paid on 23rd? I know florists usually do but theres only one near here i can think of and i wont be able to get to it. (as oh working and only he drives and the florists not in town where ill be going shopping) :)

I've bought plain see through cellophane in WH Smiths I think. I've also bought it in Hobbycraft and in a small local, independent staioners type shop.

Could anyone suggest what I could line my hampers with? I found some jute bags and I'm putting in it some organic juice, fudge, shortbread and chocolates, and thought it might look a bit odd just putting it all in the bag. Should I try to pad it out with tissue paper or something like that, or, do you think it will look ok without it?

I did a 'hamper' in a jute bag and wrapped the individual items in tissue paper to give a more luxurious look. Pics are in my post on the old thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=15154193&postcount=5565.

    Hope that helps.

Oh! I bought these! They are really cute. Check each one carefully though as the eyes are sometimes painted funny, IYSWIM.
