Hello again - can anyone tell me how to upload photos to the Hampers Pictures thread - I'm a bit clueless!! Have put together my first hamper and apparently the cellaphane from flowerhour was dispatched today so should be able to complete it soon!! Best get on with the rest!

    Hi Popkins,

If you look at post #56 of this thread it has instructions on how to do it. I was a bit clueless before I found these instructions, but now I know it is easy. You need to set up an account with someone like Photobucket.com first though.

Where is the best place to ask for suggestions for hamper contents for particular people? I don't want to start up a new thread and clutter up the board!

I'd go for right here to be honest, everyone is lovely :)

Afternoon all - would just like to mention that the other day I ordered some prints on Photobox (70 free ones when you sign up) of some friends and family and I'm SO pleased as I am making a lovely scrapbook for two of my friends and for my mum, so has cost me next to nothing to make because I already had the scrapbooks! :) Definitely a good idea if you are giving framed pictures as gifts this year. Also got a big pack of anti-bac wet wipes (handbag sized) through with my ASOS.com order which I'm chuffed about as they're perfect for my nan's hamper!

    Hi,

Can anyone give me some advice on what to use to fill the bottom of hampers that are too deep, to bring the gifts up to the right level for wrapping?? I know some people include a towel in the gifts etc, and use that, but I'm not doing that and I'm stuuuuck!! I did wrap three for my little cousins last night using shredded cardboard at the bottom, but they leaked cardboard dust underneath through the wicker, so I won't be using that again! And shredded tissue is great for decoration, but hasn't got enough bulk! Rant over lol:rotfl:
I have used last years old wrapping paper that I kept to use again but it got a bit tatty in the back of the cupboard - it looks a bit nicer than newspaper when its scrunced up.

    Thanks, will do! :)

Okay here goes... hope I can get a few suggestions as these hampers are looking wonderful!

Mum - so far have a scrapbook of her 3 children through childhood, a 'Guess How Much I Love You?' scrapbook which was our fav book when I was little, a family organiser calender, a lovely fur gillet she wanted bought in a sale, hair colour she regularly uses, a CD... mum's budget is about £40-£50. She's a very busy woman, always very stressed (!), loves going on hols but rarely gets to!, does a lot of travelling... generally a busy mum as she has a 3 year old on top of grown up children!

Dad - Coffee addict, workaholic, golfer, runner, dog lover, book lover... so far have only bought him a copy of the kite runner and the time traveller's wife... think I may get a selection of coffee, cheese, fruit and nut choc. Budget for Dad is about £15 max.

Brother - typical moody teenager, total child at heart and always be though loves to feel he's grown up.. ;) ... so far have got him selection of those 'New Scientist' books full of different questions like why don't penguins feet freeze etc... and I'll make him a sweetie jar and some snowman soup as he loves to eat (what boy doesn't!).. he also loves golf, loves sport but has a fractured leg at the mo!, really into looking after himself looks wise at the mo and being on trend, loves anything that makes a noise or does something funny!

Sister - as mentioned before, only a little one; she's very easy but so far I've only got her some 'spray soap' for the bath, a Dora one... loves Dora, extremely intelligent, loves to learn, Peppa Pig fan, loves dressing up, bricks, drawing, crafts etc. Typical 3 year old really. She's into handbags and shoes at the moment! :rotfl:

Nan - very difficult! So far got some mint rock, hot choc sachets, framed pic of us 3 grandchildren, some nice anti-bac wipes for her handbag, a lovely handwash like Molton Brown but cheaper for by the kitchen sink, smelly candle. She's difficult as she can't use anything perfumed. Very into her shopping, travelling, looking after her appearance, total glamour puss! :)

Grandad - Gardener, fisherman, total family man... so far got him a few 'Mr Tom' peanut bars as he was talking about them fondly a while back, seeds, and I may get him a flask, and fill a jar with some sweets from his childhood back in the war from the local old sweet shop. Think I might have a nice plant pot as his 'hamper' or something to go in the garden. He's got a thing about growing tomatoes, green beans and potatoes. He's difficult as I don't have a CLUE about gardening/fishing!

Best friend no1 - She's on holiday over xmas so we've agreed to get eachothers presents in the jan sales! Going to do her a scrapbook as mentioned before, got her some pretty la senza knickers (they were doing 5 for £10), dry shampoo for festivals, going to make her a mix cd of songs from our childhood, might get her a pretty thermos coffee cup if I can find one for the long, cold, early drives to work... she's very fun, very charitable and always fundrasing, loves to drive, loves tea, loves festivals, drinking, very adventurous and always into trying new things. Has a thing for ben and jerry's ice cream! :o

Best friend no2 - Made her a scrapbook, might see if I can track down a crepe kit as she adores them and anything french, going to look for a cheap compact mirror, french kinder chocs, bought a girl's night in book for £3 (stole that idea from another poster, thankyou! :D ) as she's always skint and has to stay in!, dry shampoo as she's also a keen festival goer, lipgloss, and some la senza knickers as above. She's a fashion student, total party animal, social butterfly, always skint as she spends her pay cheque on clothes, very creative/arty, has very expensive taste!

Thanks so much for any input guys - I promise to trawl this thread and help out as best I can! :)

Well I can probably offer a few suggestions for this one :)
They do some really nice thermos flasks in ASDA, bright coloured ones.
There is a Ben and Jerry's book which gives a lot of recipes and have the history of the brand, they seem like really nice guys. You can get some lovely ice cream sundae bowls and some long handled spoons.
If you are buying in the sales for her then I would hot foot it to Boots as their gift sets are lovely and there is bound to be a themed one for her!
    Something like this maybe.

Will have a think about some of the others. Are you specifically wanting hampers for them?

I order quite a lot from boots.com and it always comes packaged with reams of scrunched up brown paper - i always use meticulously fold in up and the scruch it yp again in the botton of hampers.

I got a Lush set last year and it was bulked up with popcorn - although no too sure about that one.

I have also used screwed up newspaper covered in tissue which was ok.

I find brown paper best tbh; its sturdy enough for a fair amount of weight; you can properly achour bits; and it looks resonably proffesional.
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler
