Oh my, I'd love to recieve this, it is beautiful passion, well done :T

Thanks rainmac (and rinroo :)) Wrapping it was just as I remembered - a real 'mare lol. It took two of us over an hour, and about 6ft of cellophane that's only fit for packing purposes now :o :rotfl: Then I remembered that someone had mentioned doing a seperate strip for the sides, which solved the problem - just :) So a big thank you to whoever it was x

Rusty - Good to see that things are looking a bit more promising x (and poor mary43 having to take both yourself and rainmac in ;)) It'll look like Hobbycraft at her house :rotfl: ;))

For anyone wanting cheap and cheerful last-minute items, don't forget that Morrison's are selling off Lynx and Dove sets at £2 each (2 sets of each per person, so if you need more, take a friend :D)

  • Hi,

Can anyone give me some advice on what to use to fill the bottom of hampers that are too deep, to bring the gifts up to the right level for wrapping?? I know some people include a towel in the gifts etc, and use that, but I'm not doing that and I'm stuuuuck!! I did wrap three for my little cousins last night using shredded cardboard at the bottom, but they leaked cardboard dust underneath through the wicker, so I won't be using that again! And shredded tissue is great for decoration, but hasn't got enough bulk! Rant over lol:rotfl:

How about scrunched up newspaper wrapped up in tissue paper if you know what I mean - I have used this before and it brings up the height nicely, and gives you a base so the contents can be 'moulded' into the paper and it stops everything moving about.

2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

That' a good idea - and a money saving one too! Jut have to use the right calibre of newspaper now lol.

For anyone doing christmas foodie hampers, I made this chutney and it is GORGEOUS wish I had made more now!
    http://happyfrugalchristmas.blogspot.com/2007/12/christmas-chutney-recipe.html

That's just what I was looking for - thanks! I have a Mexican friend who misses his genuine chillis, so I wanted to make a chilli chutney with home grown chillis, but couldn't find a recipe anywhere. This one says you can substitute half the cranberries with sultanas, so I'll try doing that with chillis! I could call it Christmas Chilli Chutney, and even if it's not the same as he could get at home, he certainly couldn't buy it here. I guess he's already tried all the ones he could buy here.
