How do you know your marriage is over??

Yes, good luck. I am going through something similar. Thought at least my kids were old enough to take it but today son rang home from college and said how much he is looking forward to coming home for the christmas holidays because "everybody I love is at home". Oh dear, major guilt trip. I waited till they were grown up but it seems there is NEVER a good time to split up the old family home. Husband is sticking his head in the sand and carrying on as if everything was normal. Guess I will have to bide my time till the New Year....Ellie

My ex husband was always telling lies saying he was working when he was out with another woman. He came back smelling of garlic every evening, it was so bad it made me feel sick. He use to try to crawl into the bed so that he did not wake me up, it was so bad it seemed to seep through his skin. You could not walk into the bed room the next day without heaving . It was after putting up with this for a year or so that helped me to make my decision.0

Awwww Ellie, that's so sad. Is there absolutely definitely no way that you and your husband can sort things out?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

The thought of spending the rest of my life like this is infinitely depressing unfortunately. He's a good man but it isnt enough.Ellie

I knew my marriage was over when I realised I didn't want to have children with him but I stayed with him for a long time after that, we were together out of habit not love. And this is going to sound really horrible but I only left him when I met somebody else. I wasn't looking for somebody else, don't get me wrong but I met somebody and he made me feel how my husband never could/did. So I left my husband just over 2 years ago and i'm very happy with my OH. Life is too short to stay with somebody who makes you unhappy. I know it's different when children are involved though, must be a million times harder.
And again as bad as this sounds, I think we would have stayed together until one of us did find somebody else because it was just easier.
 Think happy & you'll be happy

What i'm trying to say is... i think you just know in yourself if it's over or can it be salvaged, do you think it's worth fighting for etc,,
good luck to you, hope it works itself out whatever way you decide is best. x0 -
