The Great DS Lite hunt
Comments

I've recently recieved a black ds lite from ebuyer.com and it looks like the fakes that have been discussed over the last few days. It has the small box, barcode on the back and the cheap usb psu that barely fits in the box, so much so it was bulging out when I recieved it. Now ebuyer are a reputable company that I've spent thousands of pounds with over the years and I suppose they will cover the warranty themselves for 1 year instead of nintendo. However, do I trust these cheap black adaptors or return it. As christmas is soon and it's a present, am a bit worried about tracking down another console. Any one else bought a ds lite from ebuyer?
As i posted earlier, they are US imports hence the cheap Uk charger has been put in the box and the US one taken out0 -
just ordered a white one with brain training from Amazon - they seem to have stock0

DuFfman you have got me worried now as I recently bought one from Ebuyer,
I honestly wouldn't know how to find out if it is a fake. What is it I should be looking for to find out if it is?When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0 -

IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT A CHEAP DS OF THE INTERNET PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REPORT!!

Thanks Deanos, wish I'd read this thread and your previous posts earlier. I was looking at the ariticle here - http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/north-east-news/todays-evening-chronicle/2008/12/05/fake-nintendo-ds-consoles-warning-for-shoppers-72703-22412528/ and a few things sent alarm bells ringing (barcode on back, small box, adaptor etc). But like Deanos says, they are US imports and nintendo UK wont let you register the ds lite in the uk, but you can register it in the US. Theres no need though because ebuyer give their own 1 year gaurantee. The box also has a big CE sticker on it and theres one on the adaptor so I guess it will be fine. The actual ds lite works great and the adaptor doesn't get very hot so I think I'll keep it.
The question is, could some of these supposed fakes be genuine US imports? Something doesn't smell right with HMRC and the scare monger stories.0 -

Just in case anyone else is looking for a console. I asked Argos to let me know when they had more in stock, this evening I have received an email saying that they have a new delivery. (I bought mine somewhere else in the end!)When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0
