Do the course, PaP. Don't underestimate your abilities - you may be pleasantly surprised.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Beanie, why cant you do one? Is it because you think you can or the funding side? Most of the 10 point courses you can get a grant for if your house earns under a certain amount/you claim some benifits.
Oh dont worry I will complete it, looking at it it looks simple. I am not going to start untill I am back from holiday though :rotfl: I want to know how shares work so hopefully thats covered in thisThe next course is £300 and I am unsure if i will get funding for that one and the final big one is £2500  Dont think I will ever be doing that one :rotfl:
However I will have fun doing this one and learning a bit more :j0 -

See how you get on with the first part, PaP. Even a part-qualified applicant is a better prospect, for an employer, than a totally non-qualified applicant.
You might not be doing it with the intention of looking for work, but you might get to like it and want to consider a career path in the dizzy, and still well paid, world of finance. Many employers are happy to assist their employees with course fees.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. Hey pap, glad to see things going relatively well for you
what course are you doing? I'd like to do a fitness instructor course, I think ISC do a home learning course for just under £400. Maybe next year, go the wedding to pay for this year!

Rog, I never thought of that. I think I will be fine with this but I have this underlying attitude that I maybe rubbish at it and thuis scupper my chances of a better job
The next one £300 is the one I really want to do, its a seperate course now as last year it was rolled into the big one. It starts on november an this one ends in october. But along the way I will get feedback to if I am going ok deciding if I will apply or not. If I am totally useless then I wont waste either mine or the governments money doing the next one.
Raph, I was thinking of you and miss c the other dayHow is things, bet you cant wait for the wedding. I am doing you and your money with the open university, I had planned to work up the courses finally completing a certificate in accounting and then take the tests to be a registered accountant ~ well thats my dream. However I would be perfectly happy just working in a office just now
Ohhh go for it Raph, I bet you will be fantastic, £400 isnt a lot either, well its not for your personal development iyswim. I did look at ics but I wanted to go down the ou route because it looked far more easier for me. I wish you all the luck in teh world when you do go for it though :T0
