  • Ok so I just counted my jar and have £28.04 for my holiday fund already. £8.04 was in my pig and I have just added the £20 of unused birthday money. After going out today and then spending on my hamster food and I did buy a magazine  I now have only £10 till payday ~ easy :T

Then I think you can manage it fine, especially if you're mum gives you a bit towards it. You are Superpap after all :)

I will have to try and save some holiday money Pap. We are going to Spain in March and the pound as plummeted against the euro, so looks like we will be eating in not out.
I will try and save loose change, as it all adds up.

  • Gem ~ Thats what I thought also I only really get one holiday a year and its not like I have debt or anything. Which I am hugely grateful for :)

Binnie ~ Ohhh sounds nice. Looks like you and me will be in for a bit of a saving spree then :D Its quite easy for me to not spend so much now as I need very little, which doesnt help my penny pots :rotfl:
  • One forward and one back  Phoned for my birth certificate and I have to go into town to get it. Not bad you dont think well at £4 return its a big pain. I told mum I would walk it but at around 6 miles (each way) she looked at me as if I was some alien :rotfl: Therfore the 'spare' birthday money has had to be taken out of my holiday savings  however I will come back with £10 of that as long as my birth certificate isnt printed in gold :rotfl:

Good day today, at work and then spent the afternoon playing monoploly with mum. Now I am sat here catching up :j

    Hello Pap,

If I can find it, would you like Monopoly to play on your pc? I have it somewhere but never play games on my computer now I have the Wii.
You can have it for free if you want it.
You will have to pm me your details if you want it.

  • Mickey, I would do it though to save money. In the end mum came with me and she paid my bus fair :j Yep I beat my mum and 2 computers :T I love playing the board game but mum prefers the 360 version :)
Binnie, Awww how lovely of you. I would say yes but we have the 360 version here and she makes me play that enough :rotfl: Image if I had it on the pc too :o

Ok so sucessful day here I had the original £10 for my certificate and then I took £20 out of my piggy for bus fair and such. Well because I wanted to collect my certificate rather than it getting lost in the post we had to hang around a bit (read 4 hours) so we went shoping. I spent 49p on a birthday gift for mum, £1 on a reduced diary, 49p on a new wallet to hold my rota/wage slips, 69p on a bright orange bottle :rotfl: , 50p on a sticky splatter thing and the £2 on lunch ~ Total = £5.17 Ok I could have done without all of that besides the diary and the lunch but hey a few little treats arnt too bad. I would have spand loads more given the chance but I did restrict myself.

I then went home and purchased my bus ticket for this month and a choc bar ~ £21.21. The bus ticket will save me money in the long run though and it may last me the majority of next month. Therfore todays spends were £26.38 that leaves £3.62 for my piggy bank. However I also found walking the streets 21p for my piggy bank :j

Oh and if you are wondering mum payed for my [STRIKE]replacement[/STRIKE] certificate :j

    Hiya All,

Well Pap you are doing well. I've dug out another 60p from my purse and found some pennies in a jar I had forgotten about tucked inside my wardrobe.
I'm going to count them up soon and see how much I have towards my £200 target.

Did anybody see that programme last night about a researcher who went onto the streets without any money whatsoever and he looked into how he can be fed for free etc?
He picked chocolate biscuits up off the floor as he was starving,
It did show what you can get for free though and how much money is lying around on the streets if you look . One man and woman had collected pennies on the streets for 20 years or so and got their friends to do it and donated it to charity, they raised thousands.

Part two is on friday.Interesting stuff.

Hope you are all well and not too cold  .

  • Evening binnie ~ Hope you are not too cold either. Now I prefer winter to summer but this is silly and I am cold  Ohhh well done on your sealed pot challenge, I just got another 60p because I charged my brother for changing some of my £1 coins for his 'rubbish' ~ as he calls it  :j I didnt see the programme personally as I hardly ever turn my tv on these days but they were chatting about it on the daily thread. I will try and watch it friday but I aint promising :rotfl: I was supposed to do a few 'bits' tonight but I havent done anything  Ah well there is always tommorow :o
