I want to be Augustus Gloop. I want my golden ticket (email) now!!!
After all, nothing bad happened to Augustus Gloop, right...?
Although don't be surprised if the email is something along the lines of "As you might have heard, Icesave accounts have been frozen. We are doing everything in our power to accelerate payment. As part of this accelerated process you should be receiving an email in...mmmm...oh, well, shortly, anyway".0 -
I hope this isn't a repeat, but has anyone actually heard from FSCS about the payment details yet? I heard it was to start this week but didn't know if it had already!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Not yet, be patient
Any Icesave customers who do not receive their first email from FSCS by close of business on Friday should contact FSCS on 0845 7300 131

I got an email from a Geir Haarde from Iceland, telling me that if I send my bank account number and sort code, they would send me my money.
They asked me to go to Western Union and pay some "administration fees".....

How do you mean the first e-mail? I've heard nothing yet.
Ah! You mean friday of this week?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
why not this will allow us other icesvers to see the progress .:j
I dare say scammers/phishers will have more info than they need already to trap the unwary, but I wouldn't broadcast more than necessary about how it's done.
I'm sure we're all very wise and sensible Moneysavers here but is somebody, somewhere going to get fooled? I still can't believe that people fall for some of the outrageous scams that circulate so something a little more crafted, targetted and convincing could catch someone out.0 -

What have you done to get a response from the man himself?
And it all sounds very genuine of course.:rotfl:Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
