FSCS/Icesave EMAIL WINNERS?

This has to be legit as I have been able to log into my icesave account which it is stated you cannot do until you have received the second email.
I realise you will have to take my word for that but I also received the following email in my inbox at 10.38 today:
We have received your instructions for your account.
If you have more than one Icesave account for which you wish to be paid compensation using the FSCS depositor compensation payment process, please repeat the process for each account.
Your compensation will be paid into your nominated account by an electronic transfer. This will take about five working days.
If your account was a fixed rate savings account and you have chosen to keep it until maturity FSCS will send you an application form to complete and return.
FSCS is pleased to have been able to help you.
Thank you.
FSCS
In fact I got two of the above emails - I guess the first was for the instant access account I have and the other for the fixed rate bond.
Thanks for posting the information - its encouraging to know the process has started, even if slowly"How could I have been so mistaken as to trust the experts" - John F Kennedy 19620 -
Is this specific to Icesave or should we always do it for banking websites? Just clicked one of my banking tabs and confirmed the correct address came up in the address bar. Is that sufficient check?
He was referring specifically to the possibility of scam Icesave emails, but there's no harm in being generally vigilant about such things IMHO. Better safe than sorry, I say. It was a report either on Working Lunch or BBC NEWS AFAIR. I would'nt say that this was being "paranoid", but taking rational and sensible precautions, but that's just my view, which we're all entitled to. Rosebud's post 306 looks very helpful....0 -

Or check your browser to ensure that the Phishing filter option is set ON for Automatic website checking (For IE7 It's Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Security>Phishing filter)0 -
It's difficult though, isn't it! Especially when I've just had a very horrowing 3½ week wait for money to be returned from Kaupthing Edge, which got lost in the ethers (otherwise known as the Administrators).
Though "horrow-show" might be more apt !0 -
Well it may not be of interest to you but it is to some people who like to know what the progress is.
Fair enough. In that case, I can report that I also received a 2nd e-mail today and later on I'll be checking it out. Before that, I am going to scour the web for any info indicating that the e-mails are out although the headers are the same as my first e-mail.0 -

Two people have already posted to say they have received the 2nd email.0 -
I have logged in to Icesave and viewed my accounts, even though I have not yet received my email. I see a new option headed 'FSCS Claims' where I can click to 'Initiate' a claim. I suspect I could do this right now, but am reluctant to do so until I get my email, just in case it tells me something critical.
Those of you who have received emails - how informative are they? I am not asking you to quote contents just in case there is something personally sensitive.0 -

You can click on initiate, but it just says "if you can't see any buttons below you've jumped the gun", to paraphrase what I remember.0
