Hello Fly ladies. I'm back after a week of chaos. I've had visitors to stay and been busy nursing the sick, lame and lazy. I haven't done any flying for over a week. So it's time to knuckle down and get on with it.
I did manage to sort some things out in my loft over the weekend. My pram has gone to the tip, which was quite emotional. And I have thrown out all my college work that I don't need anymore.
I hope thinks are well with you all. I'll try to catch up on the posts this evening.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0 -
Chunky - massive hugs to you. I hope the meeting goes ok.

Advice flower please! And anyone else with an opinion too of course!:D
I have finally got around to buying two cushions I really like for the living room, and now need to choose curtain material. The room is painted in Dulux Almond White, the carpet will be cream, and the sofas are Duck Egg blue. Coffee table, desk and bookshelves are light oak. Little bits of highlight colour planned in chocolate and fuchsia (ie. pink orchid on windowsill, chocolate throw for winter, pink for summer perhaps)
I'm dithering over the curtains - three options:
1. Cream with a shadow weave pattern (I have found this and the next one)
2. Duck Egg blue with a shadow weave pattern
3. Cream background with a not-too-heavy pattern in blue, chocolate and fuchsia pink. (which I haven't yet located - possible suitable one in John Lewis)
So, what should I go for??
Hard to say without seeing actual colours, but from what you've said and what I can make from cushion, I would say go with your first option or the third option without the fuchsia in it.
Basic rules are use neutral backgrounds wherever possible (doesn't have to be creams - neutral is a colour that has grey mixed in to tone) and bring in colours with your accessories (like you say, pink orchid, cushions, throws, pictures on walls, accessories, etc...)
Reason for this is that if ever you decide to change your colour scheme, you only have to change your accessories and not redecorate or spend money on more expensive stuff (like your carpet & sofa for example...)
If you really love pattern and colour and want to go bolder, go for it, but just take into account how big your windows are and how much the curtains will dominate once shut in the evening (usually at the moment the way you will see them most)
Duck Egg, Fuchsia and Creams/Browns go brilliantly together - I've got them in my bedroom so great choice...
Hope that helps... Thanks Sarah. I've sent them a follow-up (pretending that I'm assuming that I didn't get back to them) and still haven't heard, so I'm going to contact the others who were interested and re-offer some stuff. I need it GONE!!!
Hope you staying glued to the sofa and aren't doing anything silly;)
You can't say fairer than than that. After all, you're giving something away free! Good for you, get it gone!! Flllliiiinnnnnggggggg!!!!
Yes, I'm sofa bound, although much better today. Dinner's in the SC, kitchen's S&S'd. Pizza scoffed. Time for tv and a snooze I reckon.MMSSB Club Founder Member

I think I'd better or NOTHING will get done today! I've got the heating on but it's still cold sitting at my desk. A bit of flying should get the circulation moving anyway!0 -
Hi all
I am not doing any flying today. In fact I don't think I am doing much of anything. No, that isn't true, I have some phone calls to make to the local council to yell at some people so I am actually looking forward to that...
Knees feel better than they have which is great and I can walk without support today. Haven't tried the stairs yet - maybe tomorrow.
OH is still doing all the housework and working bless him, and the Tescos order arrives tonight with a tub of B & J in it...
Joanne - he is totally unworthy of you and only reinforces this by finishing with you by text! Deplorable behaviour and you deserve so much better!
Valli honey, froddington, tooti and boddy - thanks for the hugs and good wishes.
lil-me - it was my Dr who gave me the details but said she was now private so I would have to fund it myself. And I don't know where else to turn. It's taken so long to find someone who specialises in this and my timing is just lousy.
Sarah honey - how are you feeling today? I have skimmed the thread and not read it all, so sorry if you have already answered this.
Valli - are you feeling better today? You sounded pretty bad last night.
Hope everyone has a good day flying
*Hugs* to all
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
I'm in for 1-1.30 ChristmasshopperI'd rather be watching CSI!0

Afternoon everyone.
I was so pleased Obama got in. I kept praying nothing would happen to him leading up to the election. I would not have put it past some of the extreme right to have a go. A very big historic moment. Im quite politcal and used to be quite active years ago.
Anyway today Ive done the dailies and a HHI. Been out with DD shopping and lunch. When we ordered lunch I asked for Kish instead of quiche. DD laughed then told the woman the tale of me ordering a Chinese. I asked for Crispy D*ck instead of Crispy Duck. DD and GSs could not speak for laughing.
Chunky Hope you get the bullying sorted out.
Off to do my meeting and greeting now. Catch you all later.0
