Thanks guys I have an ISA of £3600 and am putting away £100 every month in children's account - in October it will make another £1000. I know it's not enough so may need to start saving again.

    Hi,

No 181 checking in for May. OP this month is £503.08, making total OP this year to £2446.65. I will stop overpaying on the mortgage at the end of June (when I reach my 2009 £3000 target, to put the money into this years ISA allowance. I hope someone is going to start a 2010 MF wannabe, so I can start payments again in January. If I have any more spare cash before the end of 2009 I will put some more into overpaying the mortgage. I find it much easier to keep up the overpayments and get to my target when there are other people overpaying as well. I will Pm Zavarony with an update.

Thanks everyone and well done on all the payments.

Just a quick shout about the latest on Northern Rock NOT allowing .... drawing back of money overpaid, even though they are flexible mortgages.

Very worring if you are stoozing and using your NR mortgage to store the borrowed cash. I've complained to NR and am one step away from the Ombudsman.... hoping that NR will settle with me. My complaint is that NR changed their terms without giving me sufficient notice thus resulting in a late credit card balance payment. Don't know if it'll stand up - but worth the effort I think. I settled with NR a couple of years ago over a missleading advert so perhaps they'll roll over again.

    Hi
Could I join in please? I will have a shortfall when my endowment matures so need to start overpayments. My target for this year is £3000. Hope that's ok.
