Hi all
Just to report my March overpayment of £500. This is less than I would like but I've just come back from holiday and I'm also trying to beef my savings up:o This means £1500 of OP's so far this year and 21% of my 2009 OP target.
Hope you are all doing well with your own OP's

Hope the insurance covers yours.
I've had a long spell offline due to the house move. Thanks everyone who sent good wishes.
Other half is still living 120 miles away due to work / no broadband. I got dial up this week.
Our Rayburn, for the CH, water and cooking, died. Rather frozen here but it saved me loads on fuel. It costed out at £43 a week to run and it didn't heat the whole house. As it wasn't an insured event we didn't get a pay out.
We invested in an efficient controllable oil fired CH system which has reduced the fuel bill by about a third while heating twice as much space. No longer half of Optimisticpair

Hello All, thanks for the motivation, I read your posts at least twice week to ease my MFW addiction between OPs:rotfl: .
In total this month my overpayment was £730, taking our 2009 total to £3796.25. Not bad since its our worst month for birthdays etc. Could potentially have stretched it further but in the process of changing current accounts from Alliance and Leicester to First Direct and decided to leave sufficient cash in both until I'm sure all Direct Debits have switched OK.
Next month should be a better OP we stoozed some cash from credit cards into ISAs and the interest plus payments we've made to credit cards will all go onto the mortgage.
I'm loving the low variable rate with Nationwide- every time they write to me to say its falling again I feel like I've had a little win on the lottery:rotfl: .
Also every month we get a letter saying that because our overpayment was more than £500 they are reducing our minimum monthly payment. OH asked me why I don't tell them to keep payment the same- I said I love getting the letters- they are like certificates for good effort- well done to us all!

Hi,
I think it's about time I started posting again as I'm beginning to make mortgage overpayments (although with the amount I owe I can't see it having much affect at the moment!)
Current mortgage as of January 2008 - £163,903.05
Monthly repayments £1088 at 6.08% (fixed rate for another 3 years)
Current overpayment every month starting from March £500 (max we can overpay without penalty)
Aiming for an overpayment of £ 5000 in 2009
I feel like I don't really belong here because I have such a lot to pay off still but both me and my other half desperately want to see that figure come down.Hope to get to know some of you.
KarCurrent Mortgage - £156,633:eek:Expecting baby no. one on 27th Oct 20100
