I wish life were less expensive so i could have a better go at it.
I am trying to squeeze where i can.
It's hard to try and keep a balance between everything i want to do i'm afraid. I guess we all find it hard or it wouldn't be a challenge would it.
Michelle
HI Michelle, I agree with you - if only life was less expensive! I should be grateful that I dont have childcare to pay anymore as mine are both in school! its the little bits that make a difference tho - I have a mortgage pig that I chuck change in each day (or when I remember :rotfl: )
Keep up the good work any OP is better than no OP's dont forget!!MFW 2010 Challenge (No 68) - £133.29/ £5000MFITT2 Challenge - (No 181) - Target Reduce mortgage to £130,000Mortgage @ 1.8.09 - £161160  @1.12.09 - £159052  @ 1.2.10 £157,3630 -

Is anyone able to offer advise on an offset mortgage? My mortgage deal has come to a end and so im looking at an alternative to HSBC SVR at 3.69%. I currently dont have a great deal of savings (approx £1300) because I recently paid them all into my mortgage. I figured that I must be okay at saving as I have already paid £4000 extra into my mortgage this year and have the ability to build monthly on the £1300.
It would seem the best offset deal is with first direct and this is what im considering but would like first hand experience as to whether or not it does assist in paying off you mortgage early.
I like the idear of being able to draw back up to 75% LTV in case of an emergency. Your experiences of this type of account would be greatly appreciated.0
