    Mortgage-free Glee!
Excellent. Something I forecast would drop in February has been paid this month therefore I’ll be lopping an additional £2451.40 off the mortgage. I will be routing this via my Egg Money card and paying Northern Rock with the card to get the 1% cashback. Total cashback in time for the March payment from Egg will have reached the £200 limit. I’m forecasting this £200 as an overpayment in March.
    It’s all good.

Ok I thought I would let you all know how I am getting on - or not as the case may be!!

I had been so determined that this month was going to be my first big overpayment on my mortgage and imagined it would be about £500, unfortunatley I have had quite a few unexpected expenses come up this month which have cost me quit a bit! So now I am going to be making only a £75 payment instead.

I feel a bit upset as I was so determined to make it work - fingers crossed that next month will be better.

Sorry to be negative, hope everyone else is doing ok and that I will have a better report next month (Zav I will PM you).

Try to look at it that at least you had the money for the extra expenses and didn't have to go into debt for them. That's pretty important too! And well done on your overpayment.

Yeah, I know I am trying to stay posative (honestly!). £75 is still £75 towards my target and this time last year I hadn't even thought about overpaying.

    Thanks

Hi folks. This month I will be making my first ever OP (mortgage started Apr last year) of just over £2000 as we can only make them in January. Next year's OP won't be as good as we're going to Florida this year (we won't be doing this every year!) and need to save the pennies for that.

    Good luck everyone!

Made a further OP today of £258, so total of £442 so far. Really chuffed with this as already £92 over planned OP. Hopefully will make another OP on 26th when OH gets paid.

You may not have OP as much as you would have liked but every little helps & at least you had got the money for those unexpected expenses.
