You can't be the world's worst poster, I think I deserve that title, last updated in August before going on hol :o but I have been continuing to OP a little, I just need to do some sums to work it out. You have my commitment now that I'll do that over the weekend.

And hi everyone, hope the MF journeys are going well!

Number 172 reporting in for December £499 overpaid this month. Will total up for the year as soon as possible.

Good luck all for 2010 MFW.
  • Well I finally sat down and totted up my totals and at the minute my OP amount stands at £3740 which I'm sort of pleased with. I think it might go up a little before end of year so I'll hold off declaring an end total, but I might manage to make it over £4k if all goes well :) much helped by coming off my fixed interest rate but I haven't always managed to make that as an OP

I just looked at our overall mortgage amount and it's currently just under £197k so I'm really pleased we managed to break the £200k psychological barrier.

I see the 2010 thread is up already, will have to get my thinking hat on!

Wow, hasnt this year gone quick - I am so glad I decided to take part in this challenge, otherwise my mortgage would be alot more than it is now - it really focus's the mind - I didnt think that I would manage it.

My final status is as follows

    December Reduction £1469
    YTD/2009 Reduction £20901
    Revised Balance £148999
Target was 150000 so I have beaten my target by £1001 :j

Looking forward to 2010 and the 2010 MFW challenge and the MFIT-T2 Challenge

Good luck to everyone in 2010 and hope you have a fantastic Christmas and new year

I've just had an exciting letter from the Co-op bank - they're extending my "flexible features", which means that on top of the 10% overpayment I'm allowed per year, I can now make an extra capital payment of 40% in this year and again next year. I spoke to a nice man on the phone, who gave me a figure of £9700 that I could pay this year without incurring any penalty. Now I don't have this much in my OP fund yet, but I could pay off £8000, which would pretty much halve my outstanding mortgage! :T

Well, I've just done it! Paid off £8000 - feels a bit scary but exciting at the same time! My mortgage is now down to just under £8000, and if all goes according to plan it should be completely paid off by this time next year! :j:j:j

So that means that my final total OP for 2009 is £10,105.71 :D I'm well pleased with that, since I didn't even think I could make my original target of £6000!

Can't wait to see our final MFW 2009 total, and here's to continuing the good work into 2010!
