Will be one more OP by the end of the year which will take us to £11131.84. Might even round it up to 11150 be paying the extra 18.16. I'll see when the house is finshed. Should have a working (and fully decorated) kitchen by the end of the week (finally!). Its my 30th birthday on Friday- and this would make my day. Any luck we can exchange the camping chairs for an actual sofa by Christmas as the living/ dining rooms get finished.
Anyway- well done all- can't wait to see our final total!!!!:T:T

I hope to be in the same position within the next 5 years. I bet it feels great.0 -
MF now for 2 months.. but still in control of the pennies.
My fourth complaint regarding service / terms and conditions with Northern Rock in four years eventually found its way to the Financial Ombudsman who took roughly 24 hours to negotiate a £250 settlement for me.
In some way, I'm going to miss the oportunity to earn real money complaining about NR.
Happy Christmas MFW'ers!!!0 -

Is there any other info required?

I've put £555 into my mortgage savings for November, so my total for 2009 is now £7862.54. Nearly there!
I've just had an exciting letter from the Co-op bank - they're extending my "flexible features", which means that on top of the 10% overpayment I'm allowed per year, I can now make an extra capital payment of 40% in this year and again next year. I spoke to a nice man on the phone, who gave me a figure of £9700 that I could pay this year without incurring any penalty. Now I don't have this much in my OP fund yet, but I could pay off £8000, which would pretty much halve my outstanding mortgage! :T
He also said that I could keep the monthly payments the same if I wanted, and this wouldn't count as overpayments, but instead they would recalculate the term while keeping me on the same mortgage rate.
I reckon that by doing this I could pay off the mortgage in 2010 without having to pay the pesky early repayment charge! :j
The only negative that I can think of, is that the interest rate on my savings is higher than that on the mortgage at the moment, but I'm aware that the base rate could start to go up at any time... and I think I'd rather make sure the mortgage is as low as possible so that any interest rate rise doesn't matter too much.
Is there any other downside to this?! Can you tell I'm excited!!:D
MFiT-T5 #52 - aiming to clear mortgage completelyJanuary 2019: £19620 ~ November 2021: £0.00!0 -
Well just got Decembers payslip minus my expected overtime
so unfortunatly I will only be able to make my standard overpayment.
So I would like to declare 2009 overpayment of £4,866.34 thats £1,366.34 over my target.:j
Thank you Zav for all your hard work, and everyone else for keeping me going.
See you all on the 2010 thread. Mmmm now what should my target for that????????0
