    yep - I did...

Shame 'cos the Woolwich's... "policy" of applying the interest rate drops to my tracker but keeping the DDR the same meant that I was overpaying by quite a lot.
'cept... of course now with the strike of postalness... I won't see my statement until... umm... Christmas?

Hi hurdler, if you want to join in you need to send a private message to Zavarony ( see start of thread) who will add you on a give you a number. Hope that helps

Also Hurdler there is a new 3 year challenge starting on 12/12/09 if you look HERE
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

well to be honest I'm a year and a half into a 23 year tracker, so not going to be free in 3 years... which is why the overpayment targets in a year thread had appealed.

Never mind - will ditch it for this year and if it starts again next year I'll try again.

    shame though.....

I won't finish paying my mortgage off in that time either. But I've set myself a target and intend to try and beat it. So in 3 years time I should be below 29K - my real hope is to be below 25K though! Fingers crossed.
Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
    % of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%

  • Number 18 checking in - have managed another £660 this month, so my total is now £7307.54. Not too far off my £8000 target, might just make it if I can be frugal with the old Christmas shopping!

    Number 319 update.
Just made my first overpayment - £500. Felt soooo good!
OK I know it is a long road ahead but at least have made a small start. Love getting my statement as seeing the amount reduce.
I know I said I'd aim for £50 but had some extra cash so decided to go for it.

£201 o/p for October for me. I'm not going to hit my £6k target for the year, but it's good to aim for something.

    Well done everyone.
