Hi
Will declare overpayments at £391 for this month, was unable to pay in any more due to errors with my pay:mad:.
Good luck to everyone for next month
Do you work for the NHS by any chance?? My wages are always a mess, although saying that the last two months have been correct....amazing!
£391 is a great overpayment.

No 172 here. Totals so far
May £320
Year total £1320.
I have exceeded my target of £1200 but I am going to keep making overpayments. I have also reduced my term to 10 years so I can get it paid off faster.0 -
TPA - no, I don't work for the NHS now but nurse in the private sector. Maybe we just attract bad luck with our pay:rotfl:. The overpayment this month was from a correction of errors from the last 6 months!

Hi
#235 checking in.
The interest rate on my mortgage has gone down to 2.5%. I recently opened a savings account which gives me 6% interest. It makes sense to me to put my 'overpayments' into the savings account for the time being to take advantage of the higher interest rate and then transfer the amount to my mortgage account at the end of the year to meet my target of £1000.
Hope this is ok and not bending the rule of making MONTHLY payments. I will keep saving til then and post my BIG payment later this year.

Ooh, hasn't June come round quickly?!
Have been checking my figures (again!) and already I am almost up to the maximum OP (10%) allowed on my mortgage per year. So today I've cancelled the regular OP that's included in my monthly DD, and whilst I was on the phone I've OPed an extra £250 too. This brings me just over my OP target for the year, woo! :j
For the rest of the year, I'm going to therefore concentrate on whacking everything I can into savings, and see if I can smash that target too! :TMFiT-T5 #52 - aiming to clear mortgage completelyJanuary 2019: £19620 ~ November 2021: £0.00!0 -
Major milestone achieved this month. My outstanding balance is now below £10,000. Started off with a £40,000 interest only mortgage in 1991 and the lightbulb came on about 3 years ago. Switched to a 50/50 Repayment and I/O and saw the outstanding balance reduce on a monthly basis. I increased my payment by 3 times in Nov 2007. Now I have £5,000 I/O and only £4,300 repayment.
Next milestone is at year end when balance should be £5,000. :jMortgage free

No 218 June overpayment of £350. Poll Clerk at Elections on Thursday and 2 separate stints as Count Assistant plus generous mileage allowance so should have another couple of hundred to pay later in month.0

no. 214 reporting for June duty! £50.00 overpayment went off today - usual £30 and adding in the £19.14 from the mortgage moo, which I rounded up! So, overpayment total is now £200!! Slow, but I got my mortgage statement through and seeing the extra money coming off was good - though the interest added on was still astronomical. All adds as a further incentive!
