ah...isn't it cute! No, Sonny, don't put your hand through the bars, it might bite or have rabies!

Norton has proved about as effective as a cheese slice, and slightly less flavoursome. If you don't feel you are getting full protection unless it costs money, then pay me £40 and I'll send the URL for Avira (free).
Alternatively, keep Norton, and use it in conjunction with a cheese slice, place the slice under your mouse after first smearing your monitor, this should stop all browsing, and remove the risk of internet borne virii

I take your point, albeit made in a slightly interesting way!

On a completely different point - 'Sonny'?! I hate to break this to you but I am female!

Last night I gave up as I badly needed some sleep - something to do with staying up until 3:00am the night before on the live chat with Symantec! I have now done a full scan - please see below for the results - am I safe enough to delete all of these?

Right, I have run the Norton Removal tool that you posted the link for. I have still got the following on my desktop:

    Install 2009-Norton Internet Security

    NIS09EN.exe

    Symantec_Advanced_Chat.msi

piupdate.exe (downloaded on a previous visit the Symantec live chat)

    plus the Norton Removal tool

If I install the AVIRA that you recommend, do I need to to remove any of these? If so how?

You dont NEED to remove ~ but you may as well do (Just delete them as the other guy said)

i would also recommend SPYBOT as additional protection

    Update, IMMUNISE and scan
