However, since then, I have installed a set of 6 foot high gates (with spikes on the top) across the driveway and anyone who wants to get access to my property has to press the buzzer, and I can look at a screen and see who it is before I bother to let them in, or even acknowledge I am there. This also keeps down what was a never ending procession of hawkers traipsing up and down my driveway. The only downside is that I have to go outside to get my post - however, once collected I leave the bottom of the box open so any unwanted junk (pizza menus and the like) falls straight out of the bottom.
I'm jealous!! I'd love to do that, but they just wouldn't fit in our area...........and that's IF the council let us install some :rolleyes::rolleyes:

  • My 6 month old wee car was parked on the drive in front of our house and some person decided to boot in the back door panel (3dr) I suspect a chavvy as the footprint was a backwards "nike' imprint in the dust!

Had police forensics out and lifted a footprint but heard nothing (clearly Nike trainers are a bit common round these parts!). I would report it as it will be recorded somewhere and if other report damage that day and someone is eventually caught (unlikely I know as I have heard nothing back and this was Feb) but best let the cops know-might as well (I phone them all the time now when there are disturbances outside at night (drunkeness etc) as also had the wing mirrors kicked off my old car, both sides! Sometimes I wish I had a bashed up banger, oh the havoc I would reak (think that is the right word??) but then they wouldn't bother with it.........rant over!

I would check to see if you have a company called ChipsAway near you. I can highly recommend them, as they have repaired my car 3 times. They just respray the affected area's and its an excellent job. Reasonable price as well.

Its a mobile service, so they can come out to your house/work etc.

    This is there website: http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/
