Hello everybody - hugs to Dylan and special hello to Lalaladybird - I'm not sure there's anything we can teach you by the sound of things.
Well, popping on here in-between looking on my digital site for work - not much on today ? did it all yesterday? I shall keep bobbing on. Am hoping to carve out the pumpkin today and will make some nice cumin and pumpkin soup with the "innards". We are torn about what to do tonight. We could go to the local pub who are having a halloween party and thus avoiding the children from next-door-but-one but last year they broke our car arial as we were out (couldn't actually prove it was them but it was a sure bet). There are 16 people in one house (admittedly a large victorian thing) and when they first moved in one of the children's fave scams was to knock on the door and say they were being sponsored (with form), you'd sponsor and pay and then they'd come back and say you'd not paid. PLUS the sponsor forms were fake as well - they seem to have stopped this recently. In our old house we'd have apple bobbing set up at the front door for the local kids etc and we were a favourite house apparently as we used to make them do this and then they'd get a treat - they all said it was fab and would be queuing up. However, tonight is also the first night of the new Bond - oh decisions decisions. That said I know full well we'll be having chilli and watching re-runs of Stargate Atlantis and playing "pin the mouth on the ghost" :rotfl: Got my nail varnish thinner today so I will be able to salvage all my nail varnishes! Hurrah! :j Also got the new recycling bins from the Council which I said to the awful neighbours that I was looking forward to and they said "why"?Well, so I can put things in bins and not let it all mount up in a corner of the drive like some people I could mention I felt like saying....... I'm also trying to find somewhere where I can watch this new Polish soap opera on the internet but with English subtitles......... my Polish is sparse to say the least so I could probably understand them ordering a drink and getting on a bus and that would be it. Right off for another forage on the net......
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Back from the hospital...only a quick visit today but have decided its too cold for me to venture out so OH has taken DD to cinema. He has made a flask for me and made a bed on the sofa.
Got HM soup out for lunch and will put a part baked stick in the remoska.
Im so cold!!

Lalaladybird - here is a linky for sneaky ways to save the pennies - there are 63 pages and while I think you will know most of them, as you seem to be managing old style a lot better than I can, you may find it of interest. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=826963
I have actually posted a linky - and possibly relevant. I do hope it works!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Afternoon all,
Sitting here sipping some ginger tea I bought in Australia, very warming indeed.
No trick or treaters expected here as there are no children around apart from DGS2...he usually goes with DGS1 to his other granny's where there are lots of children.
Meant to make a barm brack, have only made one once about 20 years ago and it was very nice, don't remember the recipe.
Interested to know how those of you who talk of Samhain pronounce it...it is the Irish word for November and we pronounce it Sowwan...at least that's as near as I can get it in letters!
Rachel Allen cassoulet type thingy for dinner to-day, she made it the other night on Market Kitchen...sausages would not be a normal thing for dinner here but I have talked Ulick into it so hope it is good!
Finished DGS2's mittens to go with his hat and scarf last night, not sure what to go with now...maybe hats and baby bootees I should have done ages ago.
Everywhere frosted here today...must take in the non-hardy stuff over the weekend or we will have no dahlias or cannas next year...have a few avocado plants which no doubt could do with a frost free environment for the winter...Ulick will go mad if I put too much in his precious greenhouse to possibly disturb his onions, lettuce etc.
Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to any newbies, congratulations to all who are celebrating (especially Snowy), thank you for being my friends
