  • NoahsPennilessMum - if you go through https://www.mysupermarket.com you can see if you can get it cheaper from somewhere else. Since I started using it, I have always found that my order was less expensive from Sainsburys. I actually started ordering from Sainsburys, however, because the local Tesco deliveries are abysmal. Actually they are worse. Sainsburys have been very good but I think it does depend on who is doing the deliveries.

You also get ipoints from mysupermarket. I do not have the drive, determination or mathematical ability to work out what I need to do to maximise my points, but it is points for something I would order anyway and next Christmas I should be able to cash them in for a satisfactory quantity of Amazon vouchers.

:o You probably know all this, but I hope it helps.

  • Oooooh I didnt know all that about money supermarket will have a look:D

I did use sainsburys for a short while but for 4 weeks on the run they forgot/lost some of my bags so I went back to MR T.....they have been ok up until yesterday:rolleyes:

Hope you are feeling better WBS.....I had PND after having DS...didnt know until he was 1...I thought everyone felt like that after having a baby( and me a nurse!:o )
I am still on meds for it as everytime I cut them down it comes back so have just resigned myself to taking them.
I can still remember sitting on the stairs having a panic attack as I felt I could not prioritise my day to get through housework:rolleyes:
Hope you start to feel better soon

I do think with the deliveries that you are very much at the mercy of local practice. Locally I find Sainsburys excellent and Tescos the reverse, but I am sure that varies. I have worked out that the most I pay for delivery is the same as two day runabout tickets for the bus, and I could never manage to carry it all then, even if I wasn't having trouble getting out and having to lug little bear around.

I am currently on no tablets at all, after I couldn't manage to get out of bed to look after little bear. Fortunately dear heart is always happy to help with little bear, but he works so hard and it seems so unfair to ask him. I need to go back to the doctor, but I find the thought of that daunting now, even though I can take little bear out more and more. On that note I shall remove myself from the computer and call the surgery now!

Thank you for your good wishes.

(((Hugs))) to Candygirl’s evil dog and Sybil’s evil cat (the latter very carefully, I don’t want to get scratched).:D
    Betheebee happy anniversary for Sunday:beer:

Charlies_mum I’m so glad your friend’s dog turned up ok. I agree with you about fireworks, though. *gets on soapbox, thinks better of having a rant and steps off it again*

Sybil, we have our leaf tea (three varieties) in Bodum jars, and we are very satisfied with them. They seem to have a good seal, yet my dodgy paws can cope with them just fine. They are only little jars though, just big enough to hold a packet of tea. HTH.

I'm going to experiment with a sort of meal plan - not a whole week at a time, but a couple or three days, and I shall record it in my PDA, for ease of editing if my health/other unforeseen circumstances dictate.

Tonight we'll have HM pizza (from freezer) and last of HM apple pie, as I have no idea what time Mr LW will be in; he has to apply a patch (IT techie stuff) and can't start til 18:00, so depending how long that takes, plus the 1 hour+ drive home, he may be quite late.

Tomorrow will be veggie stew followed the by two bananas we have on the dish, with HM strawberry jam and cream.

Saturday we'll probably be non compos mentis as we have Samhain celebration tomorrow night, so I'll see what we fancy - maybe Sausage Inna Bun and HM rice pud. *stops to note that idea in PDA*

Aarghhh, this post is getting long!:D

    Have a good one, all.

Hi all,not posted for a couple of days, but do try to keep up with news. Not done much as I went to visit a lady who has just had a hip replacement, and it was time for lunch when I got back in.

DH rang and said there will be 1 extra for tea- he and a friend of ours are going to a concert in Manchester tonight, the friend is driving and coming straight from work so its only fair we feed him(...hastily revises meal plan)so its now chilli and rice on the menu, but I'll have to sort s.else out for DS (allergic to tomatoes),there are some sausages I was going to casserole,he can have those.

I've got rice pud in the slow cooker-got a 4pt organic milk reduced at Mr.T.Don't know if friend likes it-he's a bit finicky,so may make a cake in a bit. Then I'll need to do some tidying,my dear niece visited yesterday with db,we got her craft box out and there is still some stuff around. We went straight out to the footie after tea so didnt get chance then.Should have stayed home-it was Sooooo cold (and we lost),but SIL had made a flask of coffee with whisky so there were compensations.

Right, better get a move on.Kind thoughts to everyone and welcome new posters.xx

1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Afternoon everyone,

Just finished lunch -good old beans on toast followed by fruit.

I've done my Waitrose shop and am pleased to say I have money left in my purse which hasn't been the case for a few weeks. I decided not to get my fruit, veg and milk at the farmshop today. I've come to the conclusion that the extra fuel I use in driving there cancels out the savings. I'm not giving farmshops up though just some weeks.

I've carved my pumpkin ready for tomorrow. I intend to save it for soup and muffins after it has done its job.

I'm planning to make fairy cakes tomorrow which I shall ice in black, purple and orange with matching jelly beans.

A thread the other day reminded me of malted milk biscuits, or cow biscuits as we used to call them. So I bought some today as a treat for the kids along with dead fly biscuits and digestives (the digestives are for a cheesecake at the weekend). Wow, aren't factory biscuits cheap and boy do they taste terrible:D ? I expect the kids will like them, but my palate has been ruined for factory biscuits after years of homemade ones. This is great because I'm not going to be tempted by them at all.

I made 4 pints of cheese sauce yesterday to save some milk from going off. 1 pint will be used for potato, bacon and onion hotpot for supper tonight. Haven't had it in ages. The rest has gone in the freezer. A great timesaver.

Who do we think the new Doctor will be then? No one can top David Tennant.

    Afternoon all,

Still very cold here with rain most of the time, made some mixed veg soup and had to run to garden to get some herbs....sage and oregano. Don't normally chop veg very finely for soup as it always seems to have a metallic taste ( yes, I know it sounds mad!) but decided to-day to try once more, chopped all finely in processor, fried in a little oil and butter and then added chicken stock...almost an hour on and there was still the 'metallic' taste so decided to try the trick I use with tomatoes....add a little sugar, has improved the taste but still think that soup in future will be made from roughly chopped veg and then blitzed with stick thingy.

Made some bagels the other day but discovered that I have forgotten how long they should be boiled for and how long to leave them then before baking...they were ok but very 'tough' if one can use that word about bread! Help please.

Fish, baked spuds, broccoli and fennel for dinner to-day...Ulick and I love fennel but it is very expensive, paid €2.79 for one head in T. Grew it successfully a couple of years ago, heads not as big as Italian ones but very good so will be doing it again next year.

Enjoy your anniversary celebrations Beth...one year and seven months until I catch up with you!

Still trying to tidy the aftermath of kitchen makeover, getting there if very slowly.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies, congratulations to all who are celebrating, thank you for being my friends

  • Well you'll all laff at this. Remember how I had the consultant from hell - no support, "oooh I'm too busy" etc - and the manager from "Can't Do the Job R Us" - well last week they had somebody sat at my desk for a couple of days - who hasn't come in this week and was meant to be covering my post and two others in the same office........ this leaves the woman who has been there a month doing 4 jobs. Apparently other docs are no happy, the work is all over the desks and floor and no patient case notes can be found as nobody has tracked anything in on the computer to the right place...... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and to think this could all have been avoided if they'd been nice to me...... :rotfl: I really can't stop grinning on this one!!! (although this is very bad service to the cance patients, however patient service seems to be a word not used by my ex-manager). Shall I do my pumpkin tonight or tomorrow - oh decisions decisions.... Just had the last of the bubble and squeak and will probably only require some toast'n' jam  later. I must say that since I've been working at home I'm not eating anywhere near as much - proof I was comfort eating at my desk. Also Mr Rage's football gear is drying on the radiator so he'll be a happy bunny..........
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
