Hi
Would try not to worry about illness. I have inherited a disease that is apparently not one that is genetic. Its just your Donald if you get anything......

My dad was only 46 when he was actually diagnosed and went onto the 5 year ok but was actually riddled with it...both his sisters have it now and they are alive but were younger than him but one has been through so many ops ...bag on etc. It just a gene thing and I hope and pray I aint got it or that this gene isn't there. At the moment had a letter in December saying they are doing a photo something or other test on parts of tumours etc... this would then confirm or not certain genes and hopefully our kids will not have to endure what we do now. Its all very new and we had councelling before.
Anyway enough of my illness's... I will begin to feel sorry for myself soon lol....
Back to PPI cause it gives you some fight. We all have our troubles and some more than others but the ones I feel for are the kids in those foreign countries with nothing and often born to die...

Agree. We claimed a few years ago for bank charges and we were given the full amount. I was told never accept the first offer.....

I would get on with the complaint and let the FOS deal with this after... you have a very strong case if the ppi was that amount for that alone. Have you contacted the FSA at all to tell them of this amount. I would and also the OFT.
They are hiding something here and you need to know more from them. Perhaps half an hour at the citizens advice or with a good solicitor would be an option too.
Thanks for all your help.

When we opened the letter we were so pleased with the offer but after calculating the rest from the statements I was like 'you robbing swines' :rotfl:

Thanks for that. I fully intend to keep going with this as I think the amount is extortionate. With interest it is well over 20,000 for an insurance policy that will only ever pay out for 1 year!! We have contacted the FSA and have reference numbers but would rather be able to fight myself as the FSA will take another 6 months to sort it out. If it went to court I think a judge would be horrified, we are also in contact with a solicitor on a no win no fee basis under the Access to Justice. Here we go. Why do they make it soooo difficult?
Thanks for all your help.

I am glad the solicitor is under the Access to Justice scheme as we are aware that very few do actually charge you "nothing" but seems like there are a couple of good ones out there.
Let us know how you get on...;)0
