Can I just ask how long I have to give a creditor to respond to my letter declining their offer and asking for full?

I was thinking 14 days or is this too soon for them to respond?

    Hi Toffee Penny
Marshallka is right as well here, I believe between 10-14 days.;) X

Evening Di and Marshallka, i have had a letter from cap one about my credit card charges and they are saying the they are fair and have offered me £46 on one and £24 on the other as a good will gesture, one i believe owes me £800 with interest and the other £420 they also sent a acceptance letter they want me to sign, obviously i am not happy, they have given me a month to get back to them. From here i persume i send the second letter refusing do i have to reliterate (not sure if that is the right word i am lookin for) go over my reasons why i believe the charges were way too much. Sorry 2 keep coming back to pester you but is all a muckin fuddle in my head lol. I hope ur both well. Sarah xxxxxx:confused:

    Hiya hun,
Have they actually sent you a written form of calculations, so you know how these have been worked out?

Sarah hun, if your not happy with these, I would take it to the FOS, if that was the final decision, not sure if you had told me before or not if it was??

So you have a month to consider these then hun?

If you are given the chance to write to them again, then tell them your not satisfied with these amounts and you would like to see how the calculations are worked out.;)

This is just not right as there are benefits for this, whyever not ??

My brother is an extreme severe case, he is 44 now, and years ago, it was hard to get anything, my mum had 8 of us and dad worked away when the coal mines closed down, my brother has no speech whatsoever, however nan then lived across the road and chipped in to help, it had taken until Steve was about 8 before they had help, obviously he did go to a Special school.

He was a lump of a lad, and suffered violent outbursts, but this was all down to frustration, when he was 30, he was the only one then left home, he has a huge outburst with just my parents there, as they are and were ill themselves then things did get more difficult for them, even though we all helped where and when we could between our lives and families.

The neighbours could hear all this banging and got scared, unfortunately the police had came which is had taken 5 of them to control my brother, as he was a very strong lad.
It was heartbreaking, as Stever cannot speak for himself at all.

He was then taken to the hospital where I once worked, and they could not cope with him, they could not believe how my parents had managed, then it was arranged for him by the hospital doctor it would be best if he had one to one in a small housing community, he is now so much happier and settled and probably feels like he's having his own independence with also security, although he is not or never to left on his own, at the hospital he had suffered fits, as he was too quick for the staff at one point and drank toilet bleaches etc, we almost lost him, he was also diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago as well.

Now though he lives up the road from me, its a huge place with 2 others like himself, yet they have speech and the care is 24/7.;)

He is looking well, which is a good thing, but it would be my wish come true if he ever said my name.;)
    Such a sad case here Di... .

Calling it a night now as its later than I wanted to be in bed. Just want this Firstplus complaint over and done with and then I can perhaps get on with life and things... I know that I will not get anything in the post for a while as I spoke to Lloyds today and was told the case had only just been passed to her. SHe said she would reply asap but if the 8 weeks have passed then they will write and give me the option of taking this to the Ombudsman. Just have to wait and see now I guess

    Night all...;)

Yeah, that offer is nothing to what you are expecting from them. I would just write back and reiterate (you were right;) ) your complaint and add that you will take this to the Ombudsman service if they don't get back with the full redress.;)

Okay hun, yes it would be good to get this case off your back and done with.;)

So its just a waiting game now then?

It would be great if the they resolved this for you hun, but if not have you decided which direction you will be taking it yet, or see what happens first?

I pray this is done for you, it will take a lot of weight and stress from your mind, so lets hope yeah ?;) .

Catch you sometime tomorrow then hun, sleep well, sweet dreams.:A

    Nighty night. XXXX
