I took out the Egg Loan in Feb 2006 - I can remember the girl on the phone going through the PPI and I told her I did not need it as I had adequate cover elsewhere! Still a little suprised that they have added it on there! It will still take a good chunk off the loan so fingers crossed hey!0

Well done, Claire! Glad to hear Egg holding their hands up and admitting their mistake.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

not much good at this type of thing
We have a virgin Credit card and have been paying payment protection cover since we have had the card. I think I am right in saying we can claim this back as my husband is self employed looking at the policy for unemployment it says you have a contract of emploment which of coarse he doesnot being self employed. It looks like they may pay out if he closes the buisness but not if he is off sick.
Anyway do I claim using the ppi letter of here for loan ppi or is there another letter? Also I dont know exactly how many years we have this card I only have statements for the last 3 years, so how many years can I claim
Thankyou for any help
Not a problem hun.;)
If you do decide to request for the SAR, you can still try to complain to them and reclaim, I see your point here, but as you feel you have a case here, then I would write to them and see what they come back with.
So while you do send the SAR if you do, then check this link out here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
If you haven't already done so and see if there is anything else as well on the list of PPI mis selling that may also occur to you, there is also a template reclaim letter on the link, but add your own reasons and with what you have already said as well.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Let us know what they say and we can take it from there.;)
You actually write to the ones who arranged this for you.
Post by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting and to keep a check on the 8 weeks they have.
Good luck

Hi all,
I am in the process of claiming back the PPI that was mis-sold to me by Egg. I initially called up to request a copy of my agreement as I felt I had been mis-sold the PPI and the girl on the phone instantly told me that they could refund me £800! which would come off the balance remaining on the loan. I said I wanted to see a copy of the agreement first before I took this further (which has taken a month to reach me!)
Anyway upon receiving the agreement I have paid a total of £1671.48 in PPI alone!!! What I really wanted to know is does the refund have to come off the balance of the loan or can I request the amount in a cheque?!
Hope this makes sense, any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Claire (nearly debt free!)
Hiya Claire
And wow, this is great news, well done :T  .
Now hun, you should have a choice in my opinion.
I would write to them and ask them to send you a written calculation of the breakdown of this and request anything to come back directly to you.;)
Let us know what they say hunni and good luck.;)

First post, but have been a long time user of this website.
I followed the really helpful advice on the Reclaiming the PPI article and as a result I have recieved an "offer" from Alliance and Leicester for £499.41 (including intrest at 8%) which I beleive is well below the amount that would be due in full, the full PPI contributions are £1056.
This offer was recieved without any dispute to my orginal claim from A+L.
What would be the best way to proceed? I'm in no rush to get this money (altough obviously it would be nice), so no need to take the cash and run yet unless its best for me.
Thank you for any and all help.
Hi there and welcome.;)
If you feel this is not right, I would write to them to ask them to send you a written breakdown of calculations through the post, I tell everyone to do this if they are unsure.
Tell them you want the breakdown explained to you, this way you should know more of the PPI etc.
Good luck and please get back to us for more help if required, anytime.;)

Fingers crossed! I will also be sending them a copy of the letter I'll be getting from my GP in relation to my Egg PPI complaint which proves my pre-existing medical condition. Hopefully they'll add that to the pile of evidence against Sainsburys.
In the meantime, Sainsburys continue to add interest to my account with them (it presently stands at about £1,350) as thye refuse to put this on hold pending the outcome of the FOS decision.
Hi bathgatebuyer
Wow, this is looking good then and its moving forward at last.:T
Good luck with the rest of them as well hun, I feel these are going to go your way.

I hope so. It's been a long-time coming. I can only liken it to waiting for exam results when you've given up worrying about whether you've passed or not but just want to know where you stand - pass or fail!
Good results of either of those will improve my life and health no end. Fingers crossed!
All well with you, Di? How have you found the Adjudication process?Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Hi I am claiming my ppi (mortgage) as i have pre existing illness.
I have tried to contact the broker however the lady in the post office asked me if I knew that he had moved to CYPRUS.
I have written to his home address, we live in the same village and at first I was reluctant to claim.
However I overcame my doubts ie Money. What should I do he was the Director of the company.
Unfortunatly I enclosed the postal order £10. I could ask the post office if it has gone?
The ppi was with Payment Shield.I am going to write to them also.
All advice welcome what should I do???SPC £500 well will try very hard.
GC £6.16/£1500 -

I know what you mean hun.;)
Well to be honest, I have never been lucky to get anything sorted within the adjudicator, my very first complaint regarding nemo, went on for 14 months, from start to paying out...... , although it was with the adjudicator a few months before it was moved on to the ombudsman.
The lloyds complaint has been with them since either end of June, early July, then moved onto the adjudicator in September 2008, that wasn't too bad, but not lucky again and its being moved on to the ombudsman anytime now.
Yes my hubby's 2 about Lloyds have been waiting to be moved on to the adjudicator since July 08, he last heard in September to tell him nothing's changed, and still waiting now.
Also requested fast track due to financial circumstances, he was only being paid £74 a week SSP from work, I care full time for my son with autism and struggling financially, but it doesn't seem he is being offered fast tracking, he was off work due to depression which didn't help......
Good luck with all yours though hun I know you have had a very long wait.;)

Crikey, this thread moves fast.
Thx to everyone who offered advice to my question about the DCA chasing me for arrears whilst I've got a PPI dispute with the original lender.
I've now spoken to the DCA and have arranged for them to send me out an income/exp form so I can arrange to at least pay them something whilst the claim is being sorted.
Don't think they are going to be getting much per month however, but at least it should stop the chasing if I can get something agreed.0
