Hi,
I took out a loan out about 5 years ago with insurance which was mis-sold to me. They didn't even offer without insurance, and instead offered as one lump sum with the insuarance included in the repayments.
I then had to extend my loan 2 years ago, and decided to extend without insurance, as had registered to this website and realised that insurance was in fact unneccesary. So, am not paying insurance anymore.
Can I still apply to reclaim the insurance that I paid before extending my loan?
Thank you for your help.

Hi all
My hubby wrote to both Goldfish and Smile virtually 8 weeks ago and has heard nothing from them even acknowledgement of our letter. Anyone else had any luck with them at all?
Also we have had a response from MBNA saying its taking them longer to investigate and will come back to us by end of this month. Do you think this is a good sign?
Thanks
I'm still waiting for my SAR from MBNA, it's been over 40days so I have reported them to the Information Commission. Awaiting response.
Did you send your letters recorded delivery?:wave:0 -

If you believe that the ppi was mis-sold to you then there is no reason why you cannot put a claim in.
Who was your loan with and what date/year did you take it out.
Have you requested a Subject Access Request, (SAR) this is all the information a company holds on you?:wave:0 -

Hi, I had a number of loans with HSBC who made the PPI a condition of the loan. They may have been taken out more than 6 years ago should I still try and get my money back or is 6 years the limit. I have called them and they have logged my enquiry and will get back to me in 5 days.0

Hi Dreamer
Congratulations on your medal:T:T:T:T:mad:0 -
Can someone please advise me .I have a claim ppi with Capital One.
I sent the 1st letter on the 10/11/08 they then replied on the 24/11/08
I sent the 2nd (pre existing illness) and drs letter on the 27th November.
I called them todayand was passed from dept to dept and on hold for just under an hour!
On each occassion the couldnt find the account number.
I am concerned that they cannot find the information.
The chap also said they are not required to reply until 16/01/09.
Surely they cannot reply if they are unable to find the account.
Should I contact the Information officer or FO or wait longer.SPC £500 well will try very hard.
GC £6.16/£1500
