PPI Reclaiming discussion Part III

I am looking into reclaiming credit card protection from Egg, I have my statements showing how much I have been paying for last 6 years is that enough or do I need to ask for credit agreement?
Here are some reasons for mis-selling:
The 13 main areas of mis selling:-You were told that you had to take the PPI out at the same time as the loan or not at all.
You were told that if you did not take the PPI you could be refused the loan or card.
You were either unemployed or self employed at the time.
You were not asked if you had other insurance to cover the loan.
You fell outside the age restrictions of the policy.
You were told or led to believe that PPI cover was compulsory.
You were pressured into taking PPI.
You were not made aware of policy exclusions which may affect you or your ability to claim.
you increased your loan and the PPI cover was automatically increased.
The small print i.e. terms and conditions were not adequately explained to you.
You paid up front settled early and did not receive a refund.
You paid an up front single premium and it was not explained to you that there was a monthly alternative.
You were not told that you could get PPI elsewhere to cover the loan.
If your loan, HP, credit card, store card, or mortgage company has fallen short in just one of the 13 areas above whilst selling you a PPI policy you will be entitled to your money back plus interest.
You really have to prove you were mis-sold the ppi in order to make a valid claim.
You could also request all the info they have on you. Subject Access Request. Companies are only legally obliged to retain info for a period of 6yrs after which the info is destroyed. However like Di has stated before some info is still retained on microfiche (if lucky):wave:0 -
Can you tell me where this quote comes from ,I may need it at the end of this week! Thanks x
Hi pinknico
I got it from here:
http://www.ppi-compensation-claim.co.uk/Is-PPI-Payment-Protection-Insurance-A-Scam.html
It was info found when I was trying to find out about claiming ppi with a CCJ for a previous post.
Don't worry lol I don't work for them, just using there info.:rotfl::wave:0 -
I wouldn't mind if you did work for them though I would expect a discount:rotfl:
I just need back up quotes of mis selling as I am expecting a fob off letter this week.
I was pleased to see in Which that they say if companies say "we sent you the policy with the details" this is not good enough .DS1 12/10/04
DS2 13/07/06

Lol :rotfl:
These companies always seem to use "get out clauses" but like I say they also had a duty of care and responsibility which, they seem to forget.:wave:0 -
Morning all.:D
Still trying to ring the insolvency service/liquidators too, and still an answering machine, we left 2 messages yesterday with insolvency service and an email, I suppose just as long as they have the message that we did not understand why this mobile company was anything do to with us, but yet we have registered claims to do with other companies......, did name them as well, you never know maybe the letter we had then someone else had ours so best to be sure.

Anybody read this sorry if you have already:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2008/oct/07/ppi.insurance
Got an email from Comp Commission saying to try FOS, told them already have.
My point was to bring it to their attention what FF had done, even if they could not help.:wave:0 -
Forgot to say yesterday, but found a little more info on Twopart/eloan, they state on the key facts that they get paid commission from the "lender" for selling the Insurance, did not mention nothing of the loan itself only the ppi.
Nemo was the lender, although the 2nd one is done and dusted, its just the fact that no amounts are disclosed, same for us all I think.:rolleyes:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
