Hubby used to be such a jolly old soul and reference wise he never had a problem, but this time I do think it will be an issue.

As this workplace is local, I am hoping he may know someone that works there that know hubby well, but for the best.

I have heard of the guy's name on the form/the manager but its the face and its not a common name then......

Oh I know it swings in roundabouts. I was meaning its a myth they now say about this thing of talking and not talking.

There is a good handbook here about suicide and for survivors of suicide (being those left behind in the aftermath that cannot get on with their lives after left to pick up the pieces around them and no matter how they try they just cannot live a normal life - often they kill someone else in the meantime if you know what i mean and kill whole families too and leave kids not knowing what to feel). Its a hell of a good read.

Yes the other thing we notices on the Wards was that extremely depressed or suicidal people when showing a sudden improvement and seeming at peace with themselves would worry staff extremely. These people would quite often be put on 1:1. The reason for this was that staff knew that they were more at risk or deliberately harming themselves. It is as if they have made the decision to do this and feel at peace with the world.

I do not know if that is documented anywhere, probably, but I know it to be true because it is well known amongst nurses.

I agree and I know what devastation suicide can bring. It can leaves others completely messed up just the same but they HAVE to live on for the sake of their kids. I really do know a lot about this subject maxdp. More than most. I know what a mess it leaves kids in. I know what a mess it leaves spouses in too. I think the link I gave is excellent at explaining it too. There is no getting over a suicide so often they kill more than themselves and no amount of psychiatry or psychology or tablets can help some.

I know it is awful for those it leaves behind. They have no answers to question/ It can leave a range of emotions. I have not personally suffered this tragedy but have dealt with people who have lost loved ones. I have also had to intervene when people are trying to kill themselves so perhaps see a different side to it.

I see it in a clinical way. You have to do that otherwise you would become extremely ill yourself and would be of no help to anybody.

I agree wholeheartedly that PPor T does not help all. Only the mind can mend itself. Although tablets sometimes put people in a place where they can handle therapy

It is awful for those they leave behind that do not know how to feel every day and it can last a life time... there is no getting over it and people have to find their own way of coping I suppose. You just have to get on with it  .
  • Hi. Hope I'm in the right place!

I put in a claim for ppi against Tesco Personal Finance. I've received a letter from the FOS to say that Tesco have agreed to settle on a "goodwill basis". I'm on a dmp and RBS are one of my creditors. As Tesco are part of RBS, is it likely that I won't actually get what I've claimed back - instead it will come straight off what I owe RBS?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I doubt they could do that realistically. You need to see what the conditions are that tesco say they will pay you back. Get in touch with the adjudicator to find this out. Did you still owe anything to tesco before the DMP?? If you did then maybe they could take this off what you owe them!!

    Hi Yummy-mummy (cool name) lol :D;) .

Looking good then in a way.
Did they not give you a choice then?
So what they are saying is that they will reduce what you owe?

I may be wrong unless Marshallka could confirm this but if this was mis sold to you, and they have agreed, you should really have the choice of having this repaid in the way you want it paid, again though I am not certain here and I didn't think that being on DMP made any difference.

Hope this resolves, Marshallka unless you already beat me to it by now in posting lol what do you think hun? Cheers.

    Good luck yummy-mummy.;)
