Hi Marshallka and Maxdp.;) :A
I think since they highered the dosage of his medication he shown signs of improvement within a few weeks, and he still has to see his GP regularly and if when needed to in case, but there are no talks of reducing the dosage back down yet.
Yes I feel it was a cry for help from him myself, going by other people I know of who have unfortunately gone and done it.......
I was just so relieved to finally get him to see the GP, but feel now that he needs a little push now and again to start looking for work again, mind you the CV's have been flying out, although nothing vacant with most of them right now, but there is one I know he's really hoping to hear from, the carpentry job, he's done it all before and I know this will be the making of him myself.:D At least with the others they should keep his CV on file hopefully.;)
Fingers crossed folks, cheers.:A0 -

lol, you know the feeling then lol....:o .
Even though there are times when he's looking for things to do, so now I set up the job centre plus site and he will have a browse online and he always brings up about his old job as well, (steelworks), saying "wonder when they will re-open"? but I tell him, if he waits for them he could be waiting forever:eek: .The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Does your son like office work or computer stuff?
Jamie although he works for the DWP he said they advertise regularly everywhere, and you can also have the chance for promotions as well, he has this chance and he may take up this offer, although he is happy where he is, but he said its surprising how many young guys work there, I was just thinking about your son, because once your with them, I think its safer than factory etc these days due to recession and credit -crunch??The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

He never went back in after then and we took it to a tribunal. We have just won and it was settled out of court under the age discrimination about them knowing what age he was at the beginning but as soon as they had to pay him a decent wage being 21 they finished him. He used a claim company but I'm just so glad that it cost them in the end cause what its cost my son is far more. He never even finished his stage two and was only a month or so off and they tried to get a garage to take him on to finish it but no-one would. From then on he has been out of work and claiming dole and he feels so used a abused. He worked hard for it and then to come out with nothing after earning £80 a week for over 40 hours.
Its a hard one here Di as I do feel for him but sitting at home will not help.
My son has been through hell and back Di believe me with lots in his life...0 -

Hi Di
Obviously I do not know lots about hubbie but sometimes what we suggest is that if somebody has been off e.g. with depression etc and are finding it hard to going from staying at home to full time work, as a halfway measure is to get involved in community projects. I know your OH has had joint and muscular problems so this may not be appropriate. They do things like paint or clear woodland or canals. It is very good because they can turn up as and when they feel fit. This they gets people motivated and gives them some of their self esteem back.
Do you think that the depression is affecting your OH chances of finding work? What I mean by that is obviously he wouldhave to declare it on application forms etc:mad:0 -

He then went for the further degree course and I had not realised he really hated it and was only doing it for my benefit really as I bragged about the other year and passing with a merit etc... He then packed it in and went on a Modern Apprenticeship as a panel beater. He was nearly 20 when he did this and it was a three year thing and it was £80 per week for 40 hours but he got a trade after. After doing 9 months on it his original boss had left and he was approached by another boss that stated he did not know his age and that he would be 21 in Feb so they would have to pay him more money. At this time he had been attending college and apparently was the best college attender to the course ever and each exam he scored highly on. Then just before his 21st birthday they told him they would have to finish him as he was not cut out for the job. He was so upset as he was doing so well. We went to the training manpower and saw them as they were his assessors and they told ME that he was the best they had had. I then rang his boss up and stated I would see him in court.

Bl**dy H**l that is terrible...... , just because he was hitting that age where they had to pay him more !
No wonder the poor lad felt used and abused........ , I would of gone mad if that were mine as well !
Glad you sorted them out though.:T
Yes I understand that with what you said, and of course with his age as well, it is a difficult one, knowing what to say.
My sister had problems with her older son for years, he never like work though, but something had finally knocked him into touch because he is now happily working for the police now in the offices and has been there for over 3 years, he works in the next door room to one of my younger sisters, at first she kept her beady eye on him lol.....:D .
The youngest sister of them all works in the offices for the NHS, she used to work with Jamie, in fact it was her that got Jamie in, but as she worked for the NHS before that she missed that job most and had the opportunity to return, she worked for the DWP for about 3 years but about 7 maybe 8 years before that for the NHS offices.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Thanks for this maxdp.
What a remarkable idea.;) I will see what is what with that then and yes it has worried me a bit about the last part hun, I know they cannot discriminate but they may see it as a waste of time if you know what I mean, that bit is bothering me.......The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
