Wasn't that the works doctor though?? I thought you said it was the works doctor who said that or your own GP???

    That was different again.;)
He did have an appointment with the works doctor which was arranged by the works.

When hubby first came down with this, it was the med staff at work who said he should really see his own GP, it was then diagnosed by the GP.

It won't happen again as he has been signed off now Di... Don't think like that. He will be fine and better getting into doing things again and earning money or at least trying to. Often men are better working than not I think. They are so different to women who can amuse themselves at home but men just can't do what we can do and need to bread win. They need a purpose in life...and its the same as single parents too. They have to try to balance the lot of earning, and being mum and dad but they manage. At least he has your support and you are at home all day.

The closing date of the carpentry job is the 15th Jan - fingers crossed.;)

I am praying so hard.....:o , and yep your right, because now he's always looking for things to do, he needs to go back now......:D

Ohh, I did not realise he had been under a psychiatrist too as I remember saying this when tiggrae was on about it and you said he had not. I thought it was just his own GP. What did the psychiatrist diagnose then?? They are trained to give names to things and mostly a psychiatrist only deals in meds and its a psychologist that actually does a diagnosis and it takes lots of weekly or fortnightly sessions.

The Shoulder and back/neck problem was yet another issue, even though the GP had added this info on the form we had to send, the problem they had for being off work was "Depression" although the doctor did say to hubby that this condition was not helping with his situtation with his other problems... , he was under a physio for this and separate, he was going every 2 or 3 weeks for physio.

I think I seen a bit of that programme as well....... , well if they do not pay out on this one, as we did not expect them to in the first place anyway, it was only because the lady said for him to do this, and if they deal with the unemployment one that is the main.;)
Again with the back condition you can only make a claim in this if they actually find something by MRI or Xray and it states that in any policy. Also it has to have not been ongoing too.

Although he went for physio my hubby had to go to this but he uses his hols for it as they are really funny about time off for illness. He has bad arthritis in his shoulders and knees and we have to say this for any insurance we take out as these things are not covered. Our mortgage Insurance now has these ommitted as it states in the policy that its up to us to state what conditions he receives treatment for and what he had seen a consultant for too.

Last time we went for his psysio I saw George Best opening a ward at the hossie. ;)

Well he had been on the sick since July and it was only twice he went because by the time he seen one he was feeling more himself, there was a list and a cancellation came up just suddenly, no letter, just phone call, they said it all stemmed as from losing his main job, which was understandable, as he was feeling suicidal as well, they did not actually give a name, only put it down as "Depressive Episode", he said there were 2 people in the room, he did not even know both their names lol, as far as we know its only a psychiatrist who he seen, no-one else. (He did not want me to tell anyone, his parents do not even know).......:o , but I told him this is for his own good.
It was something like 2 weeks of each other of having these appointments, they did not give further appointments only said to see GP if things take a turn for the worse if he had to be referred again.......

It is arthritis what he has in all of those, where he also has to take ibrprofen every day..... , we know this is at least one of the conditions he is not covered with, I can't get life insurance yet, mine has been declined for 6 years as from 2009 I think, we taken out a mortgage in 2003, so 2009 I could try again but was since diagnosed with high BP, again I will be declined..... .

Wow George best....... , poor guy not here now though......

God, suicidal, how were you able to cope with it then Di.. . why did you not mention it on here...and this was in October then... and they have signed him off two months later from being suicidal. Thats malpractice I would think. No-one could get over that in a month or two I would think... . What about now, does he have any more appointments with them or have they referrred him to a hospital for some therapy. It must be terrifying for you... you must be on pins all the time.. .

That is how long ago it was my hubby had his last session. We have been to the hossie to have (a and E) to have his leg drained before and they loan him a crutch and he goes to work with it. He has a bursa on the knee and hes an electician too so has to spend time on his knees. He actually needs a new knee or it flushing out but he has not got time. He takes Celebrex and I take Diclofenac for mine. We are like two old people but we plod on. He will not have time off for anything. This flu is the first time in god know how many years. He comes home from work sometimes in such pain and takes pain killers and we just go and get the leg drained. They drain up to a cup full of fluid sometimes but he goes to work the next day:eek: . He also has had pins in his wrist and still worked. Its like they say, "I haven't got time to be ill". I have had all my ops and not once have I not gone to the school to pick up my daughter. I have been within hours after coming around from an op and stitches everywhere in my guts but I just have not had the time to be ill properly. I was offered a hysterectomy some years ago for some nasty things but I had not got 6 weeks of my life to give up and we could not afford the time. I know I have ended up having numerous little ops since but at least its mean't my hubby could still work.
