  • Hi all. I have an A&L credit card and have had it since 2003, when I was self employed. I've never taken out a loan with A&L, but I am currently being charged Payment Protection Cover, each time I use the card. Is this the same as PPI? I'm not sure if I can reclaim these - I've been looking at the letter templates but have absolutely no idea what to delete and what to keep! Any help much appreciated. :) thanks.

    Hi there and welcome.
Yes that is what PPI is, its the same.;)

If you feel you were mis sold this for any reason then yes you can try to reclaim and complain on this.
    Check this out here:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

There is some useful information on ppi mis selling and a list, if any of that occurs to you then you may have cause to complain and reclaim.;)

There is also a letter template on the above link you can use to help you, but add your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to respond in full, another letter maybe required if they mention this in their response, or they may suggest that you can take it to the Financial Ombudsman service if eligible in order for them to investigate. (FOS) is also a free service, keep us posted in order for us to continue to help you through this.

Always post by recorded post for your proof and to keep a check on the 8 weeks they have to respond.

    Good luck.;)

(I take it that you were not aware of this PPI added to your credit card then)?
The complaint process works both the same for credit cards and loans.

Look forward to hearing the outcome of this and if you require further help hun, please just yell.;)

The Manu match was where my two were but not supporting Manu. They were playing stoke and we are stokie supporters...;)

I need to get on the treadmill too after too many puddings after every meal...my stomach actually wobbles now...lol

I have gone from walking for over 1.5 hour brisk every day to nothing and its showing and I am feeling it. I can't motivate myself for anything. I feel like poop...

So yours are footie lovers as well then ?;)

My eldest could have been playing for Wales now, but at the time he chosen to continue with further education, we backed him whatever, but still footie mad and plays for a team when he has time, other than that he has played footie since from the age of 7, last year he received Managers player of the year, then 5 years running prior to that, he received player of the year and was captain of the teams, also at school.:D

My hubby is more of a martial art guy, and is handy for helping out the youngest through some protection moves.

I have done my sit up/press ups and steps the last 2 days, I got so paranoid with not being able to get my new jeans on, it was embarrassing :o:D .

I do need to get to the stadium and sort myself out..... , that must be a new years resolution  :D , hopefully lol.x

  • I posted my completed FOS complaint form yesterday against TPF & sent a stage 2 letter to M & S Money after they told me to get lost, here's hoping for some success.

I won't let them get away with ripping me off!

Yes I know that I'm sad doing this at christmas, but my husband has a chest infection & I'm bored stiff, if I don't get out of this house soon I'll go stir crazy.

Di has given you the template for making the complaint but as this is attached to a card and there are no penalties on it for cancelling perhaps you should cancel it at the same time too.

Also please check your terms and conditions too as sometimes you are covered for self employment and if this is your only complaint then they may throw it back saying you are covered.

    Hiya Maxdp
    How are you.:D

Glad you enjoyed your Christmas, :T , its flown by though hasn't it ?

How's your head today then after the party last night ?:D , hope your not suffering with those horrible hang overs........_pale_ lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :D .

Thanks hun, not doing a lot though for the anniversary, you know what its like, if you have kids and especially as my youngest with needs, hates socialising which can cause a huge amount of stress, and the families each side have plans as well, so not baby-sitters...... , still I love to spend it at home with my hubby and kids, we will play a few board games, I do not normally bother with booze, if I do I add the lemonade in with it, due to medication, and I will still enjoy it.;) .
Oh we do have the loud fire-work at mid night to see the new year in.:D :A x

  • MARTIN PLEASE...

ADVICE ALL FIRST PLUS SINGLE PREMIUM PPI CUSTOMERS THAT THEY ARE ALL DUE A REFUND!

I'VE GOT MINE AND FSO WEREN''T INTERESTED IN THE HOW IT WAS SOLD.

THEY SAY THE POLICY ITSELF IS UNFAIR BECAUSE YOU PAY INTEREST OVER 25YEARS ON A PREMIUM FOR A POLICY THAT ONLY LASTS FIVE. SO WAS "NOT IN YOUR INTEREST"

FORGET I HAD A BAD BACK OR I HAD PMT - THESE POLICIES ARE DEEMED UNFAIR YOU WILL ALL GET YOUR MONEY BACK PLEASE PUT THIS IN THE WEEKLY NEWSLETTER AS FP CUSTOMERS ARE BEING BADLY CRUNCHED!!

STEP ONE SEND LETTER ASK FOR DOSH BACK PLAUS 8% - GET KNOCKED BACK. THIS SHOULD BE A FINAL RESPONSE

NOW SEND TO fso WHO ARE SWAMPED AND WAIT...

    THEN MONEY ARRIVES.
I NOW WANT INFO ON THE FACT I WAS SOLD MY LOAN AS VARIBALE BUT IT ONLY GOES UP! I BELIEVE THIS IS MISSELLING TOO. IT FOLLOWS NO INTEREST RATE AT ALL.... MORE FP LIES!

COULD THIS BREAK THE SALES OF GOODS ACT??
