right i sent off the first letter to hsbc regarding my 3 ppi plans i had.

i recieved an acknoledgement in my online banking that they had it then about a week later i got one saying i would get a response in 4 weeks and 2 weeks later i got another hand signed letter that they were looking further into it and they require another 4 weeks.

should i still wait? is this normal im quite impressed there is that much communicatons from them keeping me up to date with whats going on i had expected to hear nothing
This seems to be happening to lots just lately. Its really up to you on this one as you only have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. I would do the two and wait for them but also get your complaint reference from the Ombudsman too as there is a long waiting list there and if they do uphold your complaint in the meantime, you can then inform the FOS of this.

    Good luck

I agree with you there. I received a letter from Tesco PF saying that they may need more time with my complaint. I rang the Ombudsman for advice and they have giving me a reference number and are going to write to them on my behalf. The advice you and Di give is brilliant and I would be lost without you. Keep up the good work.
  • well its been 5 weeks and 2 days including weekends so i cant expect a final response just yet i hadnt realised it was that long. so their letter telling me they need another 4 weeks will take it to 9 i think i will leave it another 2

Merry Christmas to you all, I hope Santa brings you all lots of money if he hasn't already.

Can't believe Egg have been fined, awaiting my SAR from them, this one looks good. :rotfl:

  • I've claimed against egg for mis selling me my ppi. I am on week 7 and i've been ringing them every two weeks, just out of boredom. And this morning i got told that its been "Upheld", and that they have sent the cheque down to be signed off.

Yay.... i was only expecting £937, but i am getting £1015.09. Just have to wait for the cheque to arrive in the post now....

    Result........

    Thanks Martin and everyone.......

    Merry Christmas:A
