Quick question. Had my Egg card for several years (2002/2003ish), I seem to remember that when I applied for it I was told that PPI was compulsory (I have no evidence for this though), I've never claimed on it either. I guess I just try my luck, but wondered if anyone had a similar situation?

I applied for my Egg loan initially over the web, and no recollection of ticking or unticking a box saying No to PPI (do they have to prove I didn't request it???), then a few years later I re-financed the loan but this time over the phone- I have no recollection of asking for PPI, must they prove I did ask for it please??
Great news about Egg though- does this mean I'm/we all are likely to get repaid the PPI?!?!?

    Hiya hun
Right how long ago was it when you the loan was arranged over the phone?

If it were refinanced then obviously they would work out the settlement from the first loan for a new loan if you know what I mean and if they are caught out on the phone with hopefully phone recordings made then the chances are the first one was mis sold as well.;)

Have you requested a SAR (Subject Access from them)?

  • The internet app. as summer 2000, and the phone re-finance was in Summer 2003. I have made a SAR and request repayment under the fact that I didn't ask for it, they have never supplied proof that I did. I have a case right?!?

    Thanks

Check out the news here, if you have not already read it:

So have you actually received the SAR yet hun?

Sorry for the questions, just need to know where we are to take the next step from here.
Or do you mean you have received the SAR and no proof was included?

As 2000 was 8 years ago there may be a problem with them providing all information as they can generally only go back as far as 6 years, although some are lucky, but a thought has come to mind, if you write to them and request for a copy of the settlement calculations from the first loan to the latest loan it should show the calculations with PPI, and of course they should supply them as this newest loan was not over the 6 years.

You still have every chance hun.;)

Sorry am i missing something here?

Was it a complete web application, i.e no human contact or was the sale call human contact?
If no human contact then i am unsure where the "made to take it came from"

    Please can you clarify.

    Thanks
