Nope apparently its very common as long as you go through the correct procedures and use the correct wordings when de-registering.

I know loads doing this but you do have to fund yourself.

We also received the letter from the school yesterday to confirm that they have now removed him from the school roll and to wish his every success in his future education.

Its then down to the school to inform the LEA and not us, that is the procedures.;) Just as long as we write to the school first.

Hi pinknico, Di has now removed her son from school and is teaching him herself... she will confirm this on here later I assume..;)

I would not feel brainy enough to do it really... It must be really hard I would imagine.

Helping with the homework is bad enough... I need to go back to school just for that. It seems this is all new according to the link. Anyone can do it if they want as education is compulsory but school is not..???

Its being able to put 6 hours a day teaching into it...It would mean not so much time on here and then I bet you are wacked to come on at night too as its like being in a full time job.
  • hi thanks for that i have looked into them and the card is provided by hfc bank does this make a difference thanks

Wow , I couldnt do it. Though my eldest starts school next year and if anything went wrong I would take him out double quick and try my best for him.

Clever Di, but what a shame the school could not come up to scratch.

Yes I would find it hard to keep going for 6 hours and not get distracted !

Who was the card with - who are GM???

If they were a bank (or members of the GISC then sometimes you can make complaints going this far back but the stumbling blocks can come if you or the business do not have any paperwork (although you say you have!!). There is one other thing - do you have the agreement too or anything that could prove you did not ask for this PPI??

They only have to hold records for 6 years but if you still have the account open or it was only recently closed then they may still have them anyway.

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.

You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.

After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

    Good luck

I'll take a look on the FSA register and get back..

But looking here might be of help and looks like they were under the FSA
    under HFC
    http://www.gmcard.co.uk/privacy_policy.do

You should make your complaint to the address on here and you will be able to take this to the FOS if they do not play ball as you have only just become aware of this misselling and HFC are a bank and most probably were under the old Banking Ombudsman Scheme...:D
