    Hi folks

Hubby has been chasing the Compo up, the Compo from when the steelplant closed down and when the Union won this case at courts earlier this year, due to 400 job losses instantly, no warning etc, so this was won for an "unfair dismissal claim".

Anyways we assumed it was October or maybe November time they would be paying out, so he rang steel-mates today to find out if they have heard anything yet and the answer is that they are all still waiting.

Over the weeks hubby has been trying to deal with it, one of the steel-mates said the receivers had said it was the liquidators, the liquidators say no the court case one would be direct through the works through assets etc, then if they are unable to do this then it will be paid out by the "Central Fund".
Hubby rang the union again and said they still heard nothing, - bear in mind hubby and some of the other ex workers are still paying this union for membership.
The union are now saying its the receivers, to be honest we are running around in flipping circles !

Does anyone know the contact email or website for the "Central Fund" if any?
    Thanks folks.:D ;) xxx

(son been so good getting on with his school work).;) Good to see him happy again.;)

Hi there again, just had a letter from capital one about reclaiming ppi, they say they sold me the ppi as requested on my application form, they ensure that their marketing is clear fair and not misleading etc etc. What do i need to do next, or is this the end for me reclaiming off them?
Its just the standard fob off we all receive. I would now write to them again and say it was still missold and add any more reasons to your letter and ask them for their final response in order, if necessary, for you take this to the FOS. You have to give them 8 weeks from the date of your very first letter so not another 8 weeks from now and also don't forget to send this recorded delivery.

Don't be put off by this. Its what most people get...;)

I haven't got an SAR, I just hoped for the best & sent them the letter, I've been with them since 2003. I thought that miss selling was the best option here

Dreamer send off for a SAR with 10.00 cheque. And you will get all relevant information back. Look through the letter Red Tab RECLAIM 1000 and see if you fit specifically into any of the categories. e.g. how you were miss sold.

Post back on here if you need any more info.

  • Hi I'm new to this forum so apologies if this is the wrong place for this. I am following Martins advice to reclaim PPI from alliance and leicester on a loan I took out. After 1 year of payments (on a 5 year loan) I took voluntary redundancy from NHS and so I was in a position to pay off loan early (last June)which I did. I am now in the process of trying to reclaim PPI which was sold to me with the implication that I must have it for my loan to be successful.I wrote to AL 8 weeks ago and they replied that they would investigate and get back to me (a leaflet they enclosed suggested this would be within 21 days). After 7 weeks I had heard nothing so I wrote again enclosing a copy of my first letter. I have received a letter today saying that they still have had insufficient time to look into my claim and suggesting I either give them longer or go to financial ombudsman. My gut reaction is that they are simply saying go away and take matters further if you want what do you think?
  • hi i was wondering if any one can advise me on this situation.
i have a gm card for about 9 yrs i was recently going through some old statements and noticed i was paying £80 ppi a month so i contacted them and cancelled it it has now dawned on me that i never asked for ppi on the card so maybe i should claim it back would i be able to with the account being opened so long ago it is still current and the ppi was cancelled 12 months ago any advice would be of much help

    Hi there
I would now be inclined to complain to the Financial Ombudsman service here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

They have 8 weeks to respond in full, so if its well over 8 weeks and you still not heard then continue to the FOS as mentioned, enclose what you have in copies of correspondence to back your case, explain to them you had already given them a chance to respond, even by writing to them again.

There are complaint forms on that above link or you can ring them for a hardcopy through the post, good luck.;)
