Maxdp and pinknico - how long have yours been with the unmentionables now and is it the unmentionable that comes on here and I sometimes challenge etc.... ...

    I am getting closer now...
  • Hi there again, just had a letter from capital one about reclaiming ppi, they say they sold me the ppi as requested on my application form, they ensure that their marketing is clear fair and not misleading etc etc. What do i need to do next, or is this the end for me reclaiming off them?

    Hi everybody

I was just wondering if anybody has recently had experience of dealing with Nationwide?

OH had a loan with them and we have sent the 2 letters and we received their 'no, we're not refunding you' letter yesterday. Their main justification is that OH signed the forms confirming the loan and that it mentioned the PPI was able to be cancelled. We don't see this as the point, as he was told over the phone he simply wouldn't have the loan without the PPI, and he needed the loan.

We're therefore going to the Financial Ombudsman.

I realise there's a 2/3 chance of being successful and obviously we'd like to be one of the successful ones!! I just wondered whether anybody had recently had any successes with Nationwide after going to the Ombudsman?

    With many thanks in advance.

Hi, my OH has a loan with nationwide and we asked for ppi to be paid back and much the same as you they said no! We exhausted all communication with them so decided to go with a company that audits loans, not only are they probably going to get the ppi back but as l understand it l think they have also calculated the interest is wrong, it's taking quite a while like 6 months so far, but it's not going to be any better through FOS, one of our claims went to them in jan 08 and is still a waiting an adudicator!!
NW are really hard we are in such financial hardship so ask for our charges claim to be looked at again, we fit all the criteria for FH and they're still stalling they only have to look at our bank account to see it for themselves!!

    Hi Dreamer

No Standard FOB off. Did you get full SAR. Have they sent you a copy of the agreement. Why are you going for miss selling.

Yes, if that when you took it out. Pity its not 2005 as all sales of insurance were regulated by the FSA. I don't know if you could find out from the FOS if they were members of the general insurance standards council at the time of your loan which would enable you to take this to the FOS..

I would just write a letter again now and ask them for a final response and let us know what they say...

    Good luck..

Hi again, just an update on the Currys situation (this seems to be taking a week at a time between correspondence).

I received a response from them saying that they are reiterating their previous responses and that they will not comply with my request.

I contacted the FOS, and they said they can't do much either due to it being pre-2005. I'm guessing that this leaves me pretty much nowhere, other than pursuing it through court?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Proud to be dealing with my debts. Started: Nov 08

    MEAF: 1 (no responses)

I haven't got an SAR, I just hoped for the best & sent them the letter, I've been with them since 2003. I thought that miss selling was the best option here
