Just left my response on the successes forum. Both HSBC and Abbey have upheld my complaints! Just waiting to hear back from my other Abbey loan but that should be upheld, seeing as I'm claiming under the same circumstances as the other loans. So happy! Thanks so much for everyone's help and encouragement.

I know Welcome were members of GISC before that but can't remember if it were 2003 or earlier......0

I thought you were meaning cause they were regsitered with the FSA on that date that this covers the insurance side of things and it does not matter. Any sales of insurance had to have been after January, 2005 or the company had to have been members of the GISC or the other schemes like the Banking Ombudsman etc.;)
Its annoying though isn't it ?
That's why these companies are getting away with it...... , reading back on that letter I received the other day, HFC added that Endeavour did not fall under the jurisdiction of the FOS prior to 6 April 2007. And as your complaint relates to an issue that occurred prior to this date, we believe they may not be able to adjudicate on this matter.
It is important to clarify that whilst HFC Banks owns EPF, the products offered under each brand are different and as such, are subject to differing arbitration services.

Again my complaint was about the settlement made in Nov 2005 and not before that, they keep referring as if its mis sold !!!
HFC were covered as from 2001.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks Di and Marshallka Sorry I meant to say in my last post that I was sold the Loans and PPP by First Plus themselves. The other thing that I noticed on the paperwork for the 1syt loan is that the Loan was in joint names however the PPP only covered me which doesnt seem right either.
I have written my letter and I m on my way out to the post office to post it registered post.
Thanks guys I will let you know how things go as I will be around for some time now I think as Im reading these posts trying to understand it all.

Could not help myself, just emailed HFC about that letter.
I told them that I believe as confirmed by the FOS that it was HFC who dealt with the rebate and not Endeavour as EPF were just the lender.
Also made it clear this complaint is NOT about the product being sold in 2004 but the rebate settlement in Nov 2005 which was undertaken by themselves.
I also confirmed to HFC that I have sent the details of the received letter to the person who given me the details of them, don't think they will get back now but it may make them think, hopefully I will hear something by the one from the FOS who dealt with this by this Weds on her return. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I was told by that manager man at the FOS that he would write on my behalf to the insurer as he needed a final response from them about the rebate. Just happens though with mine they are not sure where to write to and there are jurisdiction issues.0
