PPI Reclaiming discussion Part III

Hi all
I am on a real high after getting a refund from Egg today so my husband wants to look into all of his things.
He has credit cards where the statements show PPI which he has been paying for years, does he need to get a hold of the original agreement before sending the first letter?
Are the statement enough to go on?
ThanksNyks Interest Beater £29/£2600 -
hi recived a letter from egg telling me that they are looking into my complaint is this just standard practise or are they taking me seriously?
Hi jacseb
You should receive a standard response anyway but its good to have one of these which will mean they ARE looking into this for you.;)
Good luck, keep us posted.;)

Di you need to tell them this information as it is all new, it should make a difference and get them to get their finger out. You are the eternal optimist and it must be so nice for your husband and family cause you all support each other. I really hope you have some good news soon.
Hi Maxdp
Thanks hunni.;)
I have contacted my adjudicator the one dealing with the lloyds complaint, and hubby have also made the FOS aware of the situation as they have 2 about lloyds which has been with them since July and last he heard it was still in the queing system, he tried many times requesting for fast tracking and all he got back was that they will make contact soon that was early in October....., but as he was only receiving standard SSP of £74 of a week anyway, and with the personal and financial reasons he gave them before they still did not get back..... .

Hi Sammy well done on yours.:T  :j .
Right then hun if your hubby feels he was mis sold these for any reason then it would be worth him trying to reclaim on these, as long as he has never made a claim on them for example, sickness, unemployment etc.
He may have had PPI automatically added to his credit cards, but there are many reasons as you will know.
If he has no agreement, it maybe worth his while writing to them to request for copies of these, ring them first to ask if there is a charge as some charge a £1 for each agreement.
But again put into writing and post by recorded delivery, they should send these out within 12 days of request, of them receiving this.
A SAR (Subject access Request) may be worth it if he has nothing at all where they must supply EVERYTHING they have on you on the account, they have 40 days to supply the info.
Like with all letters post by recorded delivery, there is a charge of £10 cheque or postal order payment for an SAR.
Good luck.;)
If you require the template letter for a SAR let us know cheers.

Thanks for your comments. No I didn't take BH to court went thru FOS. Good luck with your complaint with Welcome. I've had 2 loans with them, the third one is still running. The adjudicator has upheld both my loans, 2004 and 2007 which is still current. The loan for 2006 was paid off but was packaged thru Portfield Financial Services, so I now have to make a complaint to them. It's taken me 12 months to get this far. Now waiting to hear what Welcome says, if it's a rejection then the decision will have to go to the ombudsman.
Keep the forum posted as we want to know how you get on. Fingers crossed for you.
Hi Nomore, You've done really well stick with it! Am dealing with Welcome and BH but both pre 2005. I need to call FOS next week. Do you know when either became a member of GISC?
Di - So sorry to hear about hubby but hopefully that's given you even more fire to go for these financial con merchants and seek recompense!0
