PPI Reclaiming discussion Part III

I keep looking at these PPI threads and part of me thinks I might be entitled to claim, but I'm not sure.
I have windows on finance (GE Money - why does that name keep cropping up I wonder?) and I also have a personal loan, both of which I took out within the last two years.
I have a slightly odd work set up. I am a contractor and a limited company, but by the same odds I'm self employed. Does that make sense to anyone?? I have been working as a contractor for nearly 3 years now.
I don't think that I should have been sold the PPI based on the fact that I am self employed and that it would never cover me for periods of unemployment nor redundancy as I always know when I'm going to be out of a job, and I'm not likely to make myself redundant, however, my dilemma is will they claim that as I work for my own limited company that technically I'm employed and therefore don't have a leg to stand on?
Any suggestions?
Thankyou0 -
Marshallka just pm'd ya back, but think it was too long, so not sure if you received it or not.
Just to say thanks.;)
And good luck with you too, hope they sort things out for you.
Gonna give hubby a K**K up the backside......:D .
Also emailed the adjudicator to let him know, made my hubby do the same for his, and also emailed the consultant from the FOS, the one who sent HFC the details, to find out what on earth is happening....... , will let you know when I hear.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Let us know how you get on. Don't give them another 8 weeks though, just give them the time of whatever is left between your first complaint date and 8 weeks. Also send it recorded delivery too.
Good luck

Thankyou for your response dated 26 November 2008 which I received today. I now enclose a letter from my university to confirm the dates in which I studied with them as a fulltime student along with a copy of my transcript from the institution which highlights dates and modules studied.
I am also enclosing a copy of the credit agreement you kindly sent me in your reply and have highlighted a section at the top which required me to confirm three statements by ticking the appropriate boxes. The boxes stated that:
1. I am aged 18 or over
2. I have lived in the UK for at least 12 months[/font]
3. My partner or myself are in permanent paid employment (minimum 16 hours a week), self employed or retired, or in receipt of incapacity allowance
All boxes remain UNTICKED on my agreement and should therefore have been queried by GE Money on receipt of my credit agreement. As mentioned in my previous letter (which I have enclosed for your reference) I told your sales representative in store that I was unemployed and in fact a fulltime student but they remained pushy and would not listen to my circumstances.
I am seeking a full refund of all account cover premiums paid during the period I was unemployed and a fulltime student as I was not covered by this policy and it was in fact mis-sold. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within seven weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint
Yours Faithfully
