  • Hi am hoping one of you experts can advise. I received my SAR back from Welcome today. It consists of notes from my account, no agreement. Useless really. It is a fairly old account and I'm just checking I paid PPI. What would be my next step please?

    Hi there

How long ago did you take the loan out?

If it was over 6 years ago, is the loan settled? and if so what year?

If this was over the last 6 years you have settled, you can actually contact Welcome to ask them to provide you with a written breakdown of calculations, this should confirm what the PPI and the loan etc, this should also help your case.

It may be worth giving them a ring, especially if the loan was cancelled the last 6 years, where they should have a breakdown of the settlement to provide.;)

    Good luck

  • Hi
The loan is settled and was taken out in approx 2001. I was expecting them to send loan details through or would that be their stalling tactics? So I go back to them directly?

Right, can you remember the year this was paid off ?

Yes they may be stalling tactics, although you would expect to receive everything in a SAR which they should have done this, but yet some of mine I have had to request some things that did not come back with the SAR where they sent when I asked.

Tell them you have already paid out for this and would appreciate it if they could send you a copy through the post of the breakdown of the settlement.;)
Go back to them directly or ring the managers dept, tell them to send within 7 days, we can then move on with this, so let us know what they say.

You are entitled to this and they must have the calculations there of when this was settled.

As soon as you receive these, we can then move on, however a reclaim letter can still be sent now to them unless you want to wait for the extra information.

The chances are that because your loan was taken out in 2001 they could only provide what they have for the last 6 years, so as I said, if this was settled within the 6 years the hardcopy of the settlement they should send to you no problem.;)
