I think it closed 2001, I realise I'm cutting it fine but thought maybe worth a try!

Yes I am regretting walking out on Gary and the boys especially now!

    PMSL...
It may be that they do not have the agreement now as they are only really obliged to keep it for 6 years from when the account is closed. I would certainly try to get as I have had agreements from my bank going back to 1999.

If you had a loan over 5 years of £10000 and it was interest of 6.7% then the repayments should have been £196.60 per month.

As you were paying £278 per month it looks like you were charged £81.40 per month in PPI:eek: totalling £4884 with the interest.

I'm currently awaiting a FOS response to my claim. I phoned the day prior to getting a loan from Egg and was verbally advised to tick the PPI section as it would enhance my chances of being accepted!!

SURPRISE SURPRISE Egg can't find the conversation due to it being 'inaudible'.

Will let you know how i get on.

    Hi Clanger69

I was interested to hear that Egg can't find the conversation due to it being inaudible.

I had calls not from egg but Freedom Finance the calls were transcripted for me too, some of the words on the paper transcript read "inaudible" basically because the person transcripting the calls could not hear well or understand what was being said. However I was able to make out what was being said when I listened to them myself.

I might be wrong but if Egg have said the call is inaudible it may well be they have the call but "they" cannot hear or understand what is being said.

I would ask them to send all calls on their system whether inaudible or not. Just my opinion.

  • I had a loan of 13k and was told I had to have a £6k insurance policy. As Martin has pointed out, it was restricted to a one year payout and I was self employed. I suffered sever depression when my company went bust and claimed for 1 year, it paid out. However, I always questioned the 6k on a 13k loan but now the account has been sold to a debt collection agency.

    a) this was forced upon me but I made a claim so can I ask for this back (less what they paid)?

    b) who would I ask if I could, the Collection agency or the Original bank lender?
