ok here go's
phoned FOS they said blackhorse was not regulated by them till 07 so would not deal with my case because it go's back a lot further. advised i contact the FLA help, wasnt expecting that has anyone dealt with the FLA & how did they get on in comparision to the FOS.
thanks marshallka for advice, wont believe £10 cheque just dropped on mat, posted saturday,so why have i had no response to previous letters seems really fishy about this SAR, going to ring ICO, just to be on safe side.
right just phoned what a horrible witch i got felt they dont like enquiries or complaints, told her she had got a !!!!!! attitude, in the end told me a lot of company's dont charge,& if they dont comply ring back to complain. round & round same circles all the time.

The FLA investigate complaints, you can check to see if blackhorse are a member on their website. If they are send your complaint to them, they will look at it for you.

It an absolute disgrace that they are not responding to your request for information.

Call the FSA also, like marshallka says also you have to give them time, wait the 40days if no info complain.

Why don't you also bypass the monkeys and go straight to the organ grinder, the "chief" send a complaint to them outlining the way you have been treat and that the FSA would not consider this to be "treating customers fairly"

Are you sure the FOS said it was 2007 and not 2005 as all sales of insurance had to be regulated from 14th January, 2005 by the FSA.

I had a similar response from a complaint I made to the ICO about Firstplus not complying and was told "they would not want to incriminate themselves would they??". I found that unbelieveable to be said by a department that was supposed to help with things like this.

I would just send back the original letter and £10 and take that as the date from which the 40 days start and demand your SAR and make a note that you are taking this further with the ICO too.

Masmit found this for you from the FLA website:

If the company name has been found, they will be covered by the FLA Lending Code

If the company name has not been found, please check with the company direct which complaints scheme they follow. If you have already been told that this is Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), please ring us on 020 7836 6511.
Query Details: Company Name: Contains 'blackhorse'
Blackhorse Finance

Think you can actually submit your complaint online to.

Good luck

marsh, that was what he said i explained i took out my existing loan in 2005 & its still running but he didnt want to know. i had a right go at the ico because she said i had to wait 40 days. i said if they had complied to my first request, they would have 7 days left, sent a copy with SAR , SHE said why have you sent 2 requests how thick can you be. i really felt ICO was a waste of time & would be if needed.
