sandraroffey wrote: »i have been trying to get back PPi from La Redoute (the replies are coming from REDCATS UK) and the latest reply, after me saying pay up or you're dead, goes something like this:
our records show that your policy was sold on the 30th october 2000. the financial ombudsman service, which was set up to help customers with certain complaints, has only had authority over Redcats (Brands) ltd since 14th january 2005. before this date the financial ombudsman service will only investigate and assist complaints regarding mis-selling of policies where the company was previously covered by other regulations set in the general insurance standards council disputes resolution facility. ('GISC DRF')
this means that the rules and regulations as they stand today did not cover the selling of your policy at the time that you purchased it. As Redcats (Brands) Ltd., was not covered by the GISC DRF, we believe this complaint to be outside the jurisdiction of the financial ombudsman service.
based on this we must refer you back to our original response and inform you that we are not upholding your complaint.
it then goes on to say that if i'm not satisfied, contact the financial ombudsman service.
is what they are saying, correct?? sounds like someone has been reading a legal dictionary to me!!!
Redcats were not regulated by anyone prior to 2005.0 -
morning,
i have waited 31 days for all documentation off blackhorse for previous loans & ppi, with nothing back. so on saturday sent a subject to access, enclosing a cheque for £10. recieved a phone call yesterday saying there was no fee for this but what information do i want. i said everything on the request, she then said they do not record telephone calls & asked again what information i required, same anwser. is this normal, or is this not complying to the request. feels like a control tactic to with hold information should i report this to the IFO. anyone had this happen to them
Hi there
To me they are trying to get out of it, and as you know requesting SAR they know they must comply to it within 40 days.
If they do not supply the information you require as like on the SAR and your not satisfied you can contact by phone or email the Information Commissioners Office here:
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Check out the Data protection information on the link too.;)
Let us know if you want further info hun and good luck.

According to the FSA register la redoute is a rep for redcats, I was trying to figure out how they were linked and this is how lol
Perhaps worth the poster asking for that too now and if they cannot supply it take it from there.0 -

need some help here with a good letter that will knock them flat. and will send a copy to the FSA.0 -
Just emailed the adjudicator about the other two co-op claims. Its was on the 10th November I had a reply before saying he was expecting news by this week.
Have you had your reply yet to the Lloyds one Di??0 -

Yeah I know it can make Christmas feel sad as well, I lost one of my brother in laws actually on Christmas day a few years ago, he was 28 years old, and my uncle died on New years day, although we know we must get through Christmas and enjoy as much as we can because of the kids, its a sad feeling for the ones not here to enjoy it with us......

No hun, only last week when I sent him a copy of the letter from Lloyds who said they had shredded my letter about the ppi query, all the adjudicator said was he will review what I sent in within 10 days, and said nothing about my other emails......
Hope you hear something and with good news for a change. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
